With the plethora of eateries in The Trafford Centre, this was the only place with a queue building up outside, so we were told there was a ten minute wait. I don’t mind waiting for a full or busy restaurant, but there were at least half a dozen empty tables in full view! Was there an understaffing problem in the kitchen, or with the waiting staff? It would have been nice to know, rather than left staring at empty tables! We were eventually shown to our table, and sat down, to find our seats were still warm from the previous diners! Yuk. My friend ordered the Giardiniera, as she had been looking forward to some artichokes since r dinner the previous night when I got some on my pizza, so it was quite annoying there wasn’t a single piece on her pizza! I ordered the seasonal special Brussels and Truffle Romana pizza, the roasted sprouts were rather soggy, and clumped unevenly which led to rather garlicky mouthfuls. Of course we did the British thing of saying everything was, «Lovely thanks» when the waitress passed and asked if our food was ok! We had a voucher code so checked with the waitress when she took our drinks order(Ginger Beer/Diet Coke) but was told to keep it until we asked for the bill. Overall it was a bit of a disappointing experience, with the wait/empty tables, and average pizzas. Yet as we left there was still a long queue to be seated!

Pizza Express is always a good option if you want an easy and tasty meal. We usually go to the Trafford Centre branch before the cinema. The restaurant itself is okay but can get very busy meaning the experienced isn’t very relaxing. The food is always good. There is a wide choice of pizzas and their strawberry mess cheesecake is amazing. The service isn’t that great and feels very rushed and you have to wait a while to attract someone’s attention but the food does arrive quickly

After a dissapointing experiance with Zizzi across the way, as the stopped my favourite Pizza and me being in a express kind of mood, I decided to come here to finally enjoy the Fiorentina Pizza I craved, in the best possible fashion, no not in a nice itallian resturant in Italy, in the middle of the greatest city in the world!(Maybe after London, Munich, Barcelona, Tokyo, Paris the list goes on) Manchester in the greatest part of Manchester… well in the top 10… The Trafford Centre. I ordered my Pizza to take away, staff seemed good. It came very quickly after my order, which is impressive with it being gluten free especially. She even used a seperate knife to cut it for me. I feel it had too much spinich which was a downside and the base was slightly burnt across the crust, but was otherwise cooked well through the most parts and I enjoyed the addition of garlic oil. I prefered the black olives used rather than the stronger green ones and I liked the egg in the middle and cheese. This Pizza cost £8.95 which is a decent price with it being a resturant and gluten free, a much higher quality than Pizza Hut who charge a higher price. I feel 3 stars is in order, with speed and price being a main factor and also the pizza tasting pretty nice. After a unpleasant experience with the branches in Liverpool and London over the past few years, this alongside the Bury branch has helped to restore my faith in the franchise.

Great food. New menu. Sad about them losing the Pomodoro Pesto Pizza :( Worth it for the offers though.

Not the best location. Difficult to get noticed and served by the wait staff. Food came quickly after ordering but what came was incorrect. After some consideration on his part the waiter eventually offered to replace the wrong pizza with the right one. There’s plenty of other choices in the Trafford Centre Food Court — I suggest you try them first, rather than go here.

Blah blah chain with ok food… OK, well it’s good food for a chain and I do like it here but the seating arrangements are terrible! The pizzas are ok and the pasta is reasonably well cooked but does have the odd piece that isn’t chewy and you may have to crunch through! The seating area is far too open and overlaps with other restaurants and trying to get a waiter/waitresses attention is tedious!

OK I visited Pizza Express this week at the Trafford Centre, Manchester, UK, and Overall I thought the place was good though with a few noticeable oddities. OK first off we went out for a friends 25th, with 10 people, our group was by no means small. The service was great, everyone’s food arrived hot and on time, however their range of alcoholic drinks are abysmal, its either spirits, wine or one type of lager. No cider(my favourite) or cocktail list to be seen!(Appletini’s are fab!) If your ordering a garlic bread, note that they are very small, bun shaped affairs however I already knew this and don’t mind them… they are however not for sharing! I always go for the Pesto Pasta dish here, although it was nice, the cheese was very elasticy and you practically had to cut the stuff with a knife, it simply will not break easily, well without the food being flung on the older couple sat behind me. The venue was ok, the Trafford centre kind of determine the structure of all their restaurants, and they have made the most of the room available. The kitchen area is easily visible which is also a nice touch and reassuring being able to see your food being prepared. All in all we were happy with the service we received! Hope this helps!

When I came to england, everyone was raving over pizza express. The setting in trafford centre is AMAZING!!! Gorgeous! On the walls they have this old school Italian little window with laundry drapping on a string which actually moved, very cute! Service was horrible!!! We sat down… waited like 15 mins for the waiter, he poured us water and left. Came back mmm another 15ish minutes. We ordered. Waited I would say a good 30 mins when we called him and were like what the ef? Then 10 mins later we got our food. Pizza was awful!!! I ordered the Veneziana and even after waiting so long & starving… I could barely eat it. I will give it another shot though next time I am in england. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. I’ll stick to Margheria next time!

As part of the weird Ocean Liner dining area at the Trafford Centre, eating at this Pizza Express was an odd experience. Amazingly, my girlfriend and I went in just before 10pm on a Wednesday night, yet they were still doing dinner. Armed with Orange Wednesday discount, we were ready to get a tasty dinner that was also a bargain. We went for some dough balls and garlic bread to start, which was greasy and full of garlic, which is great as far as we’re concerned. For my main meal I chose the Etna pizza, which was absolutely humongous. I took it as a challenge though, and the sliced ham was a great addition to a tomato pizza that had pockets of hot, spicy tomato paste. The service was really quick and with our discount we managed to get everything, including drinks, for about £15 for two people. Excellent.

When you buy a house, you’re told location is everything. Luckily, the same rule doesn’t apply to shopping or eating or the Trafford Centre would have closed down years ago. For those that happen to be stuck in the Trafford Centre on a marathon shopping exhibition with their family or beloved however, Pizza Express offers a moment of respite. Admittedly, if there’s a pause between songs on the stereo you can still hear the faint sound of thousands of people marching to the consumer drum but otherwise, Pizza Express is a great place to unwind, eat and recharge your batteries. Like the other city centres branches, the menu is extensive with a long list of meat and vegetarian pizzas with every topping you’d imagine from mozzarella, parma ham and pepperoni to capers, olives, asparagus, artichokes and courgettes. One of my favourites is the Padana — which is goats cheese, spinach and caramelised onions on a thin and crispy base. My advice? Stay here until the shops have closed and the masses have driven home. It’ll make your escape /exit much more relaxed.
