Description

Specialties

The repair and treatment of damp, woodworm & dry rot.

History

Established in 1951.

The business was originally founded in 1951 as Peter Cox and Partners specialising in stone cleaning in post war London.

The founder Peter Norman Cox was a pioneer in the development of chemical damp proof courses. In the 1960s he developed and patented his Transfusion DPC system using a gravity fed, non-flammable siliconate fluid to permeate the masonry and form a barrier against rising damp. This system, exclusive to the company, carried an Agrément certificate from 1975 to 2004 and has only recently been superceded by our new silane diffusion technique.

In the 1970s Peter Cox diversified into woodworm and dry rot control and then remedial wall ties, reaching market leadership in 1989.

From 1996 when it was part of the ServiceMaster group, the business traded as Terminix Property Services but it reverted to its original identity in 2004. Up until August 2012 Peter Cox became a division of Restore plc, and is now owned by Castlefield House Ltd.
