Talk about unfriendly. The rest of Stalybridge is admittedly set in its ways but almost nowhere is this so apparent as Judges bar on Corporation St with its brass band history and named after Jack Judge, music hall entertainer and composer of popular songs back in the day like ‘It’s a Long Way to Tipperary’. There’s not much fun and merriment left over these days. A definite old man joint; there are plenty of other places here to enjoy a drink. It feels like a private social club when it musn’t be. Stalybridge Labour Club, for instance, is much more welcoming to young uns unless you kick off and start being rowdy.

Nope. Will I be going in here again? No thank you. I went in once with a few friends and lasted about ten minutes. The glares we got was unreal. There just seems to be older people and people trying to be young in here. The beer is not all that either. And quite expensive. If you see this place walk past it. Don’t waste your time going in and trying to get a drink.
