History
Established in 2007.
The 5 of us had played in various bands together over the years but never all 5 of us in the same band at the same time. We had all gone the route of playing in «serious» bands in our respective youths and early twenties, writing and playing our own music and trying to «make it». We had some minor successes but no big bites of the cherry.
In 2007 the fates conspired to bring 3 of the aforementioned bands to an end at roughly the same time. The 5 of us got together and decided to rise phoenix-like from the ashes in the form of Johnny Rocket and the Satellites. The name was our bass player Dave’s idea. As a young boy he had dreamed of playing in a band of that name. The basic idea was simple — to create the best wedding function band in the North West. We think we succeeded. Come and audition us and see if you agree.
Meet the Manager
Mark B.
Manager
In addition to playing keyboards and adding vocals, Mark is also responsible for bookings, administration, accounts and maintaining the band’s website.
When he’s not playing or rehearsing with the band Mark likes to play guitar. He is also the proud owner of a ukulele, which he says is the best £40 he ever spent. Don’t worry he won’t be bringing it to any gigs!
