Went along with two friends based on reading some great reviews. Immediately felt uncomfortable with having to stand in front of the kitchen and being watched by all the chefs/kitchen staff, whilst waiting to be acknowledged and tended to by staff. We were not acknowledged for 5 minutes. The scallops were gorgeous but the service was dire. We agreed the food was tasty but not worth going to again based on the horrendous lack of service.

This place is really going downhill.
We’ve been many times over the last few years, and each time the food is getting that bit more bland, the attention to detail less, the service worse. Last night was the last straw. Greasy chips, soggy veg, overcooked lamb, forgotten drinks — yes it was Saturday night, but that’s all the more reason to keep the standards high — especially when you’re paying top end prices, for example £22.50 for a main course.
There are plenty of excellent restaurants in the area, such as Rhubarb, Lime Tree, No. 4 — I can’t see any reason why anyone would come here instead

Superb.
Smoked Haddock Fritters to start.
Grilled Cornish Plaice with Morecambe Bay shrimps and Lyonnaise potatoes for main.
Food was excellent. The cornish plaice especially good.
Service was very good.
Can’t really fault the Jem & I. The lovely waitress spilt a bit of wine and we felt slightly rushed at first, otherwise spot on. We were sat in the bar area, effectively the downstairs part of the restaurant (as I’d booked late) which isn’t as relaxed as the main restaurant. Aside from this I would give Jem & I 5 stars!
It was my first time visiting and I’m looking forward to my next visit.

this is a slightly squed revew as the food and the experince i had in the restrant was avarage to good but apon leaving to the public car park i found my car had been blocked in by a truck wich it turns out was the managers who had a very serious attatude problem and was quite intimadating and all i had asked was for him to move from blocking in 4 or more cars in a public car park its not even like it belongs to the resterand so i have never been back and will not be doing so soon

This restaurant is most definitely in my top 5 favourite places to eat.
I love that it’s located just off the main road in Didsbury so it’s out of the way but still close enough to go to one of the bars for a drink afterwards. It’s lovely for an anniversary dinner because the décor is very warm and luxurious and the tables are candlelit for romance.
I’m dying to try the tapas option they have for lunch but I have tried the Chrispy Fried Cajun Chicken with Sweet Chilli Mayonnaise (£7.95) which was amaze. Dinner-wise, the Grilled King Prawns in a Garlic, Chilli and Parsley Butter (£7.50) are sooo tasty and the perfect size for a starter really. For a main I almost always go for the Beer Battered Fish and Chips (£11.75) because I just can’t deviate from something I know is delicious! The fish varies depending on what they have that day but I had a sea bass version — an upmarket fish and chips.
Pork Chop with Caramelised Onion & Cheddar Mash (£14.50) is apparently lovely too — I didn’t get the chance to taste it so it must have been good! For dessert I urge you to have the Sticky Toffee Pudding because it’s iiiiiincredible. I don’t think I’ve had a better one — my homemade one aside — so it’s definitely worth having.

This is a lovely little restaurant, housed in an old bank, that serves some of the best Mediterranean cuisine you can find in Greater Manchester, with a Michelin Bib Gourmand award to prove it. I love the décor in here, warm woods and deep red painted give it a luxurious and cosy feel.
The best part for me is their popular tapas menu, although their mouthwatering mains are hard to pass up. Seared Sirloin steak and Pan Fried Seabass are some of the highlights — but don’t expect this kind of quality to come cheap — most mains will set you back £15−17.

This restaurant is perfect for a romantic evening or a catch up with friends. They do the best steak in Manchester, always cooked exactly to your specification. The menu changes regularly so you always get to try something different. They have an extensive wine list. The staff are welcoming and friendly and the prices are very reasonable considering the high level of service and quality.
