Not very lively. Looks great from the outside. More for social quiet drinks where you can chat with friends

Yet another NQ pub with a decent range of drinks at NQ prices. Their cocktail range is quite interesting and you can get 2 cocktails for £10 during happy hour. The bar is cozy and inviting and the staff are relaxed and friendly.

Affleck and Brown is another new opening in the Northern Quarter. It was formerly a Victorian department store and they have tried to keep a traditional feel with the bar. The interior is wooden panelled with muted colours and a great place to head to for a post work drink. They serve a good range of cocktails and the service is friendly. However when we went on a Friday night we did find the music too loud, we couldn’t speak to each other without shouting. I feel that this doesn’t fit in with the casual laid back vibe Affleck is trying to offer. I will be back but not on a Friday or Saturday night.
