Kai’s Bar

This bar is now a wetherspoons pub it has been refitted and is still a popular pub. The drinks prices have been forced to be higher than is usual for one of their pubs this was insisted on by the local pub landlords as it would have undercut the local high priced pubs and in a small town like Louth if you don’t fall in with the local businesses you wont get into the town. Hence no national fast food or supermarkets. Having said that it is still a nice place to have a drink and talk to people without having to shout. It is themed with local activities and local history and local characters of historical note.

Good food, nice atmosphere, family-​friendly in the daytime and lively at night. However, I think the music choice could be improved upon, and the dance floor’s a bit small! It’s good that there are two bars, though, and the function room upstairs is excellent as well (they do full catering for functions and offer a disco).
One particularly good feature of Kai’s is the enclosed garden behind the conservatory, which makes al fresco eating very family-​friendly in warm weather because the children are safe to run around. The conservatory is a particularly nice place to eat at any time of year because of its comfortable seating!

Great at night and in the day, but completely different atmospheres. In the day time its light and spacious with a very modern feel. In the evenings its darker, more club feeling. The drinks are quite reasonable and the music in the evenings is good. This place has a good reputation in Louth and is definately a stop for a good night out.

Kais is a great night out! The drinks are reasonably priced the music is pretty good! The DJ’s are spot on in knowing how to please the punters.
The atmosphere in Kais is relaxed everyone is there because they want to have a good time, i have never seen any trouble there at all.
The only downside i have ever found to Kais is that the dance floor is too small and it can be difficult to get served at the bar as there never seems to be enough staff to cope with the amount of customers that they have in there.
But on the whole i really like Kais, though i would imagine it is very different during the daytime and i have only ever been in there on a Saturday night!
There is no entry fee to get into Kai’s, they do hold regular events and offers so keep a look out for them!
Kais also have a food menu but i have never eaten there so i am unable to comment on that.
The staff always seem to enjoy working there and it really does create a good atmosphere which helps you to enjoy your night out.
If you are planning on a night out in Louth i would highly reccommend stopping off at Kais for a drink or 2!
