Been here numerous times and always a great experience. Is a good local restaurant with an asian fusion menu. They have a bar in front if you want to get drinks beforehand. They also have some tables in the bar area where you can also order appetizers. The restaurant has a mix of tables and booths and a private dining room downstairs if you want to throw an intimate dinner party(have been to one before downstairs). Innovative list of cocktails as well. It can be either an expensive or fairly reasonably priced evening depending on what you get. Some recommendations: *The veggie pad-thai– Is really flavorsome and comes with crushed peanuts & chillis.(also a reasonable price). *Roast pumpkin & spinach gyoza– Interesting take on gyoza– love the flavours! *Egg fried rice– Fresh egg and is not greasy *Xo sorbets trio– A great ending to the meal with an assortment of sorbet fruit flavours Stay Away From: * The chilli crusted tofu– Is incredibly dry. This is really unfortunate as could be a great dish but have ordered it on two different occasions and have been let down twice. They need to add some sort of sauce to this to make it more palatable. *Pomegranate spring-rolls: This sounded good but it was served cold and was soggy. Flavours also did not mix. Service is really attentive & friendly. Can get busy on Friday nights & weekends so always good to book on opentable beforehand. Would recommend!

XO has a pretty solid set menu. The Roast Pumpkin & Spinach Gyoza are fantastic; probably the best thing on the entire menu. The Aubergine & Lychee Green Curry is also quite good, but it’s more soup than curry, and it somehow stayed nuclear until well past everyone else at my table had finished their mains. I wouldn’t visit XO on a regular basis, but I enjoyed everything I had!

The sashimi tasted dry and fishy… Now we have bubble-tummies… The spareribs were waaaaaay salty. So did the paktjoy and the chicken? Well… We ordered two different kinds… Both we didn’t finish, too salty and too boring. Why 2* and not one? Friendly waitress, the 7yr old liked his birthday dinner! Never coming back.

I’m surprised by the positive reviews here, as our lunch experience here was mediocre. Perhaps it was an off day. But it was off. By dish: Chicken Sui Mai with Chilli Jam: mediocre. Uninteresting in both flavor and texture. Tuna Tartare: Good, not great. The accompanying fried crackers were great — light and crispy. But the tuna itself was just good. Chilli Salt Squid: Also mediocre. A bit soggier than I prefer, and both the salt and chilli flavors were too subtle. Had to slather it in the sauce(which was good) to get flavor. Prawn Phad Thai: Pretty bad. Strangely tangy, not enough sweet, and overall bland. The décor and service were both lovely, nothing to complain about. But the food was wholly dissatisfying.

XO’s really knows how to take care of their guests! I went to a private party here and when I walked in the door they took my coat and walked me to a tray of champagne and cocktails and offered me a tantalizing adult beverage immediately! After rounds of canapes served on trays(Note to self: eating sushimi must be done in one bite or you end up wearing some of it) we retired from the bar area to the restaurant in the back. Appetisers of wonton dumplings, tempura, and assorted sushi combinations seemed to keep coming and still we were served a lovely Asian salad, and still more rounds of large pieces of fish which we shared among 6 at our table. Since the hostess had selected the menu, I didn’t ask what was being served, and to my discredit, I didn’t read the small printed menu of the evening at the table(great conversation and copious amounts of cocktails). However, there was a type of white fish that had a sort of caramelization that was to die for! The ambience, food and service were superb! The only thing keeping my rating from going all the way to Woohoo is that it was my first time there and not the typical restaurant experience(reso/my order). I’ll go back and give them another go, though! The area is also lovely!

Okay, I suppose. It’s just not that great. I’ve given it an extra star for a delicious(but very teeny weeny) tofu starter. Other food was average, service seemed friendly but a bit disorganised. I was quite unimpressed with the décor which was nice at first glance but looked a bit shabby when you inspected it more closely. Eek, this sounds like a bad review. It’s not. it’s just well average. Go for a lunch deal, if there is one and if you are in the area.

Fantastic non pretentious but up to the mark food. Lovely sushi and seabass is outstanding. Quick service, nice buzz! Went because it’s round the corner from a friend’s but would recommend a trip to the Belsize area cos it is a refreshing change from the chaos of zone 1 dining and drinking!

Good honest nice trendy bar restaurant in a quiet neighborhood. The Black Cod is a copy of Nobu and tastes just as good ! Bit pricey, but generally nice.

Not bad, the Vietnamese salad is generous and nicely fragrant. I had the signature dish, Cod black miso. Looks like a Nobu copy, and tastes just as good. Still, hard to justify the £27 in my opinion. Service was Ok, atmosphere is well more cosmopolitan than the neighborhood, so a good point. Good relaxed restaurant with some style for an evening with friends.

On the rare occasion when we walked up here and didn’t eat at Beyoglu down the street, we would stop here for dinner. The quality is absolutely better than any other Chinese restaurant around and the service is always very nice.

XO is great in that it’s the type of place you could go to with your girlfriends for a cocktail or with your partner for a special occasion or date. The bar area is classy and contemporary, and the cocktails are made with fresh fruit and expertly presented. I recommend the Bangkok bellini — lush! The food is also delicious and the portions are quite generous, considering they range from £15−30 per dish! The warm edamame was a great choice for a starter and the chicken pad thai was excellent as well. I’m not a big fan of Asian Fusion restaurants, but was impressed by XO! What makes XO stand out from the rest is the service. The wait staff are friendly, accommodating and quick. The place is almost always packed but every time I’ve been there, I’ve never seem rushed with my meal. Have been twice already, but would definitely go back a third time!

Been a few times. Always crowded. Great buzzy atmosphere. Food and service really great. Not cheap. You must book because it’s always full.(Worth booking via Top Table(2 for 1)). Tried salmon tatare followed by cod miso, mushroom and rice polenta thinggy, assorted veg and rice in Asian Fusion style. Delicious!

Came here when it first opened on a special half price opening offer which made it quite good value. Nice modern surroundings and good service. The food was delicious especially the black cod — which must be the best dish on the menu. It almost rivals that of Nobu(my favourite restaurant) but not quite so expensive but still up there at £20+ for that one black cod dish. A great neighbourhood restaurant and a great place to have a good night out locally with tasty oriental food without having to trek into central London. Would recommend if you don’t mind the price tag.

Everyone seems to rave about XO, but to be honest(and in the immortal words of Jim Carrey), I’ve had better. Some of their dishes really dont match up to the same dishes in other local chinese restaurants like singapore garden and goldfish. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of the food is really tasty, and it is very good for its pad thai, but I would choose other places over XO almost every time.
