Meet the Business Owner

Matthew M.

Business Owner

My career has always centred around education. After a degree and PGCE in Geology at Keele University in I taught science in a number of schools, and found a lifelong love of teaching in the Great Outdoors. I moved on from teaching to teacher training and leading the professional college for teaching in Britain until 2013.

I took up photography as a way of staying connected with the natural world while I lived and worked in central London. I taught myself. It was definitely the hard way but, quite simply, I couldn’t find wildlife photography workshops that did much more than provide group access to zoos and other non-wild venues. Considering my background, I could see that those around me on those workshops were in the same boat and missing out on a great learning experience. I felt that if the workshop leaders were expert in teaching, wildlife and photography so much more could be done to help people learn about wildlife and habitats as well as teach technical and creative skills.
