Whisk

This is a cute, dog friendly shop with knowledgeable staff and a large array of kitchen and dining items. We have purchased a few Le Creuset bakeware and serving pieces as well as tableware and kitchen gadgets. If they don’t have what you are looking for they are happy to order it. If you have time to shop around you might be able to find the same item for a lower price elsewhere, but if you reside on Chiswick, Whisk is just so convenient.

I am not sure that I would visit Chiswick Whisk Cooking Solutions again because in my opinion the customer service was shockingly bad. The sales assistant gave me no space, when I first stepped foot into the shop. After a second she was asking me if I wanted help. Also, at the end, one of the sales assistants was (perhaps) sarcastic towards me (perhaps because when I walked past her to leave the store I did not say goodbye) — I was not feeling very well at the time. Though, if the sales assistant was sarcastic towards me, perhaps she was just having a bad day. Also, I would not like to judge the shops customer service on the basis of one visit. That aside, there were some quality items for sale, though quite pricey. I did see what i wanted and am tempted to return. The shop is also quite spacious and I liked the décor. P. S. Several people have praised the customer service at their Putney branch, telling me that the staff there are not overfriendly to ‘customers’/pedestrians, nor excessively demanding. Apparently, Putney has also some lovely stock, including utensils and saucepans (not cheap I am told, but good quality). I plan to visit the Putney Branch soon. That suits me as I plan to be moving there soon.

Devonshire Road is a little foodies’ secret haven with a Michelin starred restaurant (La Trompette) and my favourite little sushi bar (Makoto) to date. Across the road from Makoto is this little treasure trove for home cooks.
A whisk is the least of the cooking implements you’ll find here. I love to collect cookery gadgets and so, this was my idea of a heavenly shop. You’ll find tools for just about any job in the kitchen and the staff are friendly in demonstrating the stranger implements. The store is tidy and well laid out. They also have some more unusual cookbooks.
If you like to cook, head down to Whisk for essentials and for a browse.

Difficult for me to admit to being excited about a cookery store but there is something that draws you into a shop like this. It just sells cooking and kitchen stuff but I want to get in there and find some sort of gadget that I don’t currently have and that will change my life. Ideally something electric that makes a werring type of noise and hopefully makes a mess…
A family run business selling everything you could possibly need in the kitchen, pots, pans, scales, coffer machines, spatula’s, clocks, teapots, and things to organise the kitchen just so.
Some cool bar stuff in there though, bottle openers, cocktail gear and some nice glasses to sup that cold lager or wine on…
Anyway, I’m off for some counselling now — if you need kitchen stuff — go have a browse but try and not get excited.

I came here looking for a spatula, form the outside you could see rows and rows of metallic cooking utensils, I was initially horrified when I saw the price of the spatula £8.95. Still, once inside you have to go through it all, it has been arranged in a way were your eye can instantly decode, colour, metal, plastic, glass and wood. The wood section at the back is where I found my spatula at £2.50 (Score!) Even though I don’t particularly like to cook I wanted everything in there. Especially, the baking equipment, cookie cutters of all shapes feet, hands, dinosaurs, bears, stars, hearts, etc.
They even have a small section with cooking utensils for children, which is a great way to include the little ones in day to day household activities.
I don’t drink coffee either, but their espresso machines tempted me, I’d never realized how expensive this little artifacts are up to £500!
Maybe when the bug for cooking more bites me I’ll come here and indulge.

My deep dark secret is I love kitchenware shops. This one specialises in fairly high-​end designer ware, and I just love to browse around. Also useful for picking up the basics, prices are reasonable. They also run free children’s cake decorating events.
Only spoilt by calling itself cooking «solutions», which for those of you in the know is an ongoing joke in Private Eye magazine.
