Waterloo and City Line

Found Waterloo at peak evening commuting hours to be an absolute painful experience. Expect others to come into your personal space, bump you and then bump you some more as they try to move quickly to whatever train is needed. Getting to Waterloo from Windsor I found the rail trip to be a long and gang like experience – expect London youth to become agitated on the commuter train. Service staff was not too helpful to assist with transfers, problems with purchased round trip tickets, etc. So not for the faint of heart, and if you are typically not good at navigating public transportation then this experience should be skippable. I didn’t find anything near the station outside or inside to make the trip worthwhile. I believe I quickly after coming to this station lost my apetite for public transportation and sought car service.

All of my four stars go to the Waterloo and City line because of the sheer convenience. About 5 – 6 minutes at its busiest, it only runs between two stations: Waterloo and Bank. It is not an enjoyable line to take during the morning and evening rush hours — you cram yourself into a tiny cabin full of suits and FTs and see how you like it!
I do like being the only one (usually) on the train wearing casual clothes. It makes me giggle on the inside looking at all those idiots in ill-​fitting suits, uncomfortable shoes, heavy backpacks full of important documents and laptops. BWAHAHAHAHA.
The other nice touch on the W&C Line («The Drain» to those in the know) is the old-​fashioned train whistle that blows whenever a train is approaching. You don’t even get those on overground lines any more!

One of the less frequented of underground lines, the Waterloo and City is a luxurious 3 minute tour de force from one overcrowded tube station to another. The Waterloo and City come complete with an enjoyable aqua color scheme.
