I’m not usually one to indulge in these kinds of things and I usually steer clear of shops like this but a friend was going so I decided to tag along for the ride. Boy am I glad I did. After being coerced into having a 10 minute back rub after only a minute I felt completely relaxed. I hadn’t realised I was so tense! 10 minutes was not long enough and had I more time I would have asked for 30! It is on the pricey side– £12 for 10 mins £22 for 20 but they definitely know what they are doing! You don’t need an appointment although the queues can sometimes be long so be prepared. The shop itself is not particularly noteworthy but its a relaxing space and after a couple of minutes you don’t care where you are anyway! Definitely worth a look if you are in the area.

I giggled a bit when all the signs for the place say ‘no need to take your clothes off, walk in massage’, I’m guessing when they first started, that was an issue, which makes me laugh. But seriously, if you have a spontaneous afternoon off, just go, walk in, no appointment, and get them to loosen you up! So, I popped in, because I’ve heard amazing things about this place and they weren’t wrong, but I think 10 minutes is too short, but the prices have gone up since the last reviews, it’s like £12 for 10 minutes, £22 for 20. If I could bring myself to pay up, I would’ve loved at least thirty minutes, I’m like tenser than a plank of wood. and DAMN that little asian lady is STRONG so, I think I would’ve benefitted a bit longer. Verdict. Loved it. But wallet didnt.

I hobbled in here out of sheer desperation with a back that had been playing up badly for weeks. I opted for a 10 minute massage, not sure it would even help and was given a good going over that seemed to focus on all the problem areas. £10 seemed a good price to pay for this, and I was delighted to find that my back pain had improved significantly by the following day. Very easy and laid-back environment made it less stressful than some places, and I’ll definitely go back for another quickie massage in future.

Brilliant, brilliant, brilliant. To quote that really annoying paint ad, ‘It does what it says on the tin’. If it’s been all work and no play and your back or tootsies are a little sore, pop over to Neal’s Yard for a quickie massage, no appointment necessary. The prices are very friendly as are the staff, and there’s no need to strip your clothes off. I’ve had a 10 minute massage for £9.75, and prices go up to £50 for a full body Shiatsu massage treatment. There’s a range of massage gadgets and lotions too, and 1 day courses for around £70 if I remember correctly. Great gift for your boyfriend/girlfriend. It’ll just keep on giving!

Walk In Backrub’s success is based on convenience. I pop in on a whim, have a quick 20 minute massage, without taking my clothes off and leave feeing great — most of the time. It can be a bit hit-and-miss as the masseurs are temporary staff. I generally request the males as they’re a bit stronger and not afraid to use pressure. You can book for a full body Shiatsu massage as well if you have time. There is little retail section selling interesting massage goodies and literature. I’ve found some good items to buy as gifts.
