History

Established in 2005.

VINEspace opened on Vyner Street in 2005. Since then its aims have been to show an inquisitive programme of group and solo exhibitions.

In 2007 VINEspace started a series of one night shows, entitled, ‘A one night stand with…’ an ongoing curatorial venture that enables the gallery to work with a wide and varied range of artists with diverse practices for one-​off exploratory projects, performances, screenings and site specific installations.

Walking into the Gallery, I was pleased to step out of the rain, and walk into a warm wooden floorboard space filled to the brim with interesting and unusual artefacts.
I was greeted by the sounds of corrugated metal played on a belt drive turntable.
From a collection of captured puddles encased in plastic bags, to stuffed birds flying into converse trainers, it is clear the over all theme of gallery seems to be strangely obscure with a twist of tongue in cheek Kitsch.
