Ridiculously good and cheap food. Those halloumi salads are massive and amazing. A BIG queue can develop, though … I once had to leave after waiting for 15 minutes to order and not having moved up in the queue at all. But so worth it if you hit at the right time.

Great option for lunch. An outdoors food stall serving lamb, chicken and/or halloumi with salad and humus either in a wrap or with salad. Prices vary from £3-£6. Food is packed full of flavour, portions are huge and very filling. Every time I wander down leather lane I always chose this place! Recommend chicken and halloumi salad box for £5 although tried the lamb today for the first time and will definitely go for a lamb wrap next time I wander that way!

Queue may look long but they have a smooth running crew that will get you your lamb wrap in no time. Go for the standard lamb wrap. The haloumi is alright but doesn’t add too much to the wrap at a £1 premium. The lamb wrap has a good balance of spices and the heat.

This is a lovely food stall with an arresting name. I went to this place two days in a row and both times I opted for the lamb wrap over the chicken option(which looked delicious too) and once, I opted for the additional halloumi… Verdict: this is a great lunch option… The meat is flavourful without being hot, the salad leaves are fresh, the halloumi is succulent without being rubbery, the meal is ungreasy and the service is really quick. As an added bonus, the sauce-to-solids ratio is perfect and it’s completely unmessy. I like the place and I will be back! :) Next time, I might try the lahmacun(the famous lamb bread, yum!)

I keep walking past on my way to & from Daddy Donkey on Leather Lane. Here’s what you get: Grilled halloumi wrap, grilled chicken wrap, or grilled lamb wrap. Or a combo of lamb & halloumi. Not massive, but good value at under a fiver. Definitley worth a visit.

Kudos to Natalie W who initially pointed me to Victus & Bibo. I’ve walked past this stand many times on a weekend, but never realised that it served food during the week! The friendly bloke who runs this stand apparently operates a few other ones around London including the halloumi and mezze stand on the end of Leather Lane Market. Whilst chatting with him as my wrap was being prepared, I discovered that Victus & Bibo used to be a juice and coffee stand in the mornings and a food prep area for other stands. Currently, they’re sorting the inside of this stand to eventually be a breakfast stop for coffees, juices, and porridge, as well as continuing to serve lunch. In fact, rumour has it they’ve netted a World Barista Champion to serve up the java! As far as the actual grub goes, I was merrily satisfied with my ‘lamb bread’: ground meat, veg, sauces, with grilled halloumi for one quid extra. It’s quite the affordably filling lunch at £4.50 that won’t leave you feeling like you just consumed a gut bomb(I’m looking at you, Chilango).

This food stand is a few metres from Chancery Lane tube station(exit 1, the north east side). It has a really good toasted cheese sandwich which is quite similar to the one at Kappacasein(it’s on sourdough bread), although it doesn’t involve quite so many delicious extras(garlic, leeks etc). Also they have grilled halloumi wraps, once of which comes in something called«lamb bread» which I couldn’t resist trying. It’s basically flatbread folded over with little bits of lamb in between — ideal! Good mix of sauce and decent lettuce too. Definitely a good place to stop off for a quick bite if you’re in the area.
