Products are good so I can give overall 2 stars. Unfortunately the service offsets the overall great impression and would justify a zero star rating! The staff are not interested in their customers and are knitting instead of attending you?! Unheard of but then again it seems like their favourite clients are elderly people anyway maybe they feel like they don’t need to give younger people any attention? Their lossand it looks really unprofessional and rude to anyone who witnesses this insult to customer service.

A friend of mine who lives in Clapham Junction took me to Verde earlier this year and from the moment I stepped in the door, I was in love. The shop is beautiful and the products, in their unassuming packaging, are just incredible. Verde is the all natural, high quality, reasonably priced skin care products Mecca. Friends that I gave the products as gifts to in the US were begging for more on my last visit over Thanksgiving. In fact, I got most of my Christmas shopping done here! Every product that I’ve tried is obviously of the highest quality and smells amazing! My favorites so far are the Vanilla Rose body cream and the seaweed detox clay mask. Aside from the great products, the staff at Verde are so friendly, don’t try to rush you out of the store and are willing to suggest things but aren’t pushy salespeople. It’s a very relaxed, friendly atmosphere. I will definitely be making visits to Verde on any trip to the UK in the future and I’m seriously considering a letter writing campaign to get them to open a Los Angeles store!

If I could give Verde 100 stars, I would. Verde is by far the best discovery I’ve made since living in London! A few months ago, my aunt came up to visit me from Surrey and said she had to take me to this wonderful shop just down the road from me on Northcote. As we strolled along she started to get worried… the shop wasn’t in it’s usual place! She insisted that we continue on in hopes that they’d moved somewhere else because she simply couldn’t accept that they may have gone out of business. Eventually, to her delight, we found Verde in a much smaller shop just off Northcote(the address here must be wrong but I can’t find the correct one!). The moment I stepped inside I was in love. If you’re a lover of smelly stuff and beauty products, you’ll want to move in. They’ve got everything you could imagine– lotions and creams for every part of your body and in every divine aroma you could possibly dream of. Soaps, cleansers, you name it. My first purchase: Himalayan Sunrise bath oil. Oooohhhhh, I’ve taken so many relaxing baths since that purchase! And the best part– the price! I’d expect a shop like this to take full advantage and charge what they could, but they simply don’t. I tend to be a bit stingy at times, but Verde stays well within my budget. All of their products are made with such care and using the most natural, high quality ingredients. Five thousands stars! Everything in my bathroom is now from Verde. I also love giving their products as gifts– they wrap them so nicely in pretty coloured tissue paper and are always well received. I’ve been cruel by sending Verde stuff back home to America and have made beasts out of friends and relatives who now beg me to send more! Verde also cater to the male clientele and have an excellent section dedicated to after shaves, deodorant and any other manly toiletry you can think of. As you may have guessed, I love this place and simply can’t give it rave enough reviews. Everyone working at Verde is lovely and you can always be guaranteed a nice chat while you’re in there. I have to insist that you visit; now that you’ve gotten this far in the review you’re practically obligated! As I said before, they used to have a primo location right on Northcote along the market for 16 years but were bumped out 2 years ago by another yuppie clothing chain *cough* WHISTLES *cough*, so please just stroll a bit further down the road, off the beaten path and give Verde your business.

Verde is a really nice little place selling products made with their own blends of essential oils. They are ever so helpful and will strive to find something that suits you and your mood down to the ground. They also sell really good quality pure essential oils if you fancy making up some of your own potions. On certain days they also offered aromatherapy massages using their oils. At one point the shop was under threat from rising rents and I have a feeling that if it is no longer at this address it will be on the market outside(where I believe it began), but I hope it survived as it is a lovely little place.
