The Vegas Gallery is a contemporary Art space located in the heart of East London just off Brick Lane. Showing works in a wide variety of media from national and international artists. With a tendency to focus on international artists. I’ve seen some really interesting group shows here in the past, the space itself is quite intimate, it’s downstairs and feels enclosed. I used to help out at the openings of this lovely little Shoreditch gallery. The owner of the gallery is a very friendly Dutch girl who has taken advantage of the front basement area of her brother’s animation business to create a gallery space. The gallery space here is rather small but always intimate. If you get the chance to make it down here during one of the Thursday night openings you will also get to see a very cozy room that is usually used as a living room. You will be able to spend some time on the leather sofas with a glass of wine after having had a look at the show. This gallery often refreshingly concentrates on European artists such as Swiss, German, or Dutch rising stars. The group shows are usually the best and offer an interesting alternative to the common big Shoreditch galleries in the area.
