One of my favourite things about the UK is these minimarket corner stores. They’re not quite grocery stores, not quite connivence stores, not quite a green grocer, but dammit if they don’t try to be all of them. This one is particularly interesting. On a road that is slowly being gentrified with hipster stores and indie coffee shops, it holds tight to it’s policy of sell everything but nothing well. Outside you’ll find a small roped off section filled with plastic tubs, brooms and one sad pink football. Inside, things don’t get much better. You’ll find two rows stacked(nicely I will say) with everything. Nothing you’re probably specifically looking for, but if you need basic items like kitchen towel or a few snacks, there are worse places to be. They also have a cooler filled with bottles of wine. In case you really need a bottle of wine from your corner minimarket. The staff are gruff and basically won’t give you the time of day until you need to pay for something, and then they’ll only half look at you. No problem, you’re not here for conversation anyway. Wait, what are you here for? Man, I hope you find it.
