I am sooo glad we eventually found this topps tiles! We actually live reeeeally close to an(ex-)topps tiles on Camden road. We visited there first, and found tiles that we liked, although the staff were not very helpful at all and seemed keen to avoid speaking to us. We thought that was a little weird, but when we came back to actually buy the tiles a few days later, the shop was closing down(!) They did have the tiles we wanted, but wouldn’t sell them to us, as they had been reserved by another customer. Ah well. Anyway…this meant that my boyfriend and I, along with his parents had to go on a tile finding mission in North London! Our neighbour is a plumber, and had recommended a few places… but none of them had any parking spaces near-by, so we couldn’t actually get out and take a look. Eep! In the end, we drove further North(missing the topps tiles in Highgate as there was nowhere to park at all!) We gave up on and decided to look at what homebase had to offer… but lo and behold there is a topps, next to the homebase in North Finchley. There was also plenty of room to park. Phew. After all the driving, and a quick peek in homebase, we finally found the kitchen tiles we wanted… and also found some reasonably priced floor tiles that will look beautiful in our new kitchen. Yay! The lady who works here was incredibly helpful. She gave us lots of advice, told us what tools, edging, grout etc we needed and even provided a DVD to help us work out how to actually start tiling.
