Thistle Euston

Hmm. Trying to write a balanced review but after three nights at this hotel I’m finding it quite difficult.
Night 1: Basic room on the ground floor. Horrendous view of a wall and back area where workers came to smoke and chit chat. Nothing like hearing mundane conversation and having cigarette smoke float through your window for £120 a night!
Raised this issue with staff, offered a fun size kit kat and paid £70 to upgrade our room for the next two nights.
Night 2: 10.30pm. Just wanting to relax. Fire alarm intermittently going off until it just keeps ringing, need to evacuate. Nothing like a whole hotels worth of guests standing out in the cold at 11pm while three fire engines tend to the building. No explanations given.
If I were told WHY I was forced to evacuate and issued breakfast vouchers or something I might be more forgiving, but I’m still raging at the inconvenience and lack of communication by staff.
Night 3: Learnt how paper thin the walls were at 5am when the drunken posse next door could not stop giggling for an hour straight. Banged on the wall a few times which appeared to shut them up.
I don’t know at what point I had a relaxing stay or good nights sleep. The best part was the closeness to Euston station to I could get the hell out and back to Edinburgh.
Definitely do not recommend– I certainly would not stay there again.

Hotel is very close to Euston station, literally a couple minutes walk. The service at reception when you check is second to none, these guys really know how to provide fabulous customer service and treat you as an individual and this excellent level of customer service was shown to us all weekend. We were on a hen weekend glad we chose this as our base.
The rooms were comfortable and spacious and we really enjoyed the inclusive breakfast. Good prices and a good base for a weekend in London and service is second to none in all departments.

Good value for money! The rooms area clean, modern and comfy and the price is reasonable. Really only a few pounds more than a hostel. But the interior looks like it should be more expensive.
This location is about a 8 min walk to Euston Station. Locally very central.
My only gripe was the bar. In a mad desperation for diet coke after a night out binge drinking, I ordered 2 diet cokes. They had small bottles and cost 3 pounds each. An outrage. he he. I had to pay up… I was desperate for diet coke!
But enjoyed the hotel. The rate was 90 per night at high season. Not bad!

I would give a zero to this place if I could. This is the worse hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Their service is terrible and staff very unprofessional. My husband booked the hotel through a company listing but he will be asking his company to remove them from their list. Although located nearby theirLondon office, this hotel is not worth staying at. There were some hiccups in the billing due to the card used from corporate. Instead of handling it in a civil manner, they came to our hotel door and started harassing me in the middle of the hallway, accusing my husband and I of being dodgey and not paying for the hotel– after they had already charged us $ 1096 for a two night stay (the hotel was $ 590 for two nights). My husband was in London for a major work conference and this was an absolute distraction. We will not be coming back here and my husband’s company will removing them from their hotel listing. As for the hotel room, very little amenities. We’ve stayed at much nicer around the area for much less.

A great central London hotel, would definitely recommend to future visitors. I spent the weekend here recently and found it to be a great hotel with many convenient features that you may normally associate with a much more expensive hotel stay. The staff were helpful, the breakfast excellent, the bed comfortable and the WiFi free! The only small negative, the lifts were often very busy, but after devouring all the breakfast taking the stairs probably did me a favour!

This hotel would be just OK anywhere else in the UK, but for London, I would go as far as to say it is reasonable.
The room is comfortable enough, but no heating! There is an wall panel for air conditioning, but you can only turn the air conditioning on or off, there is no option for actual wamth.
I should have written the review nearer the time that I stayed there, as I can’t remember much else about the room, other than it took me ages to get the telly to work, and I had a delightful view of the back of some other buidlings. I guess it didn’t make much of an impression beyond that.
I had room service — just of steamed veg as that was going to be the easiest option for vegan, wheat free me, and it came very quickly and was very nicely done.
Breakfast was also OK — there’s a good range if you’re a standard eater, you’d probably be quite happy with the breakast. I had some dubious grainy melon, some porridge made with water, which was quite an achievement given it’s London and most employees in London hotels don’t seem to know what porridge is, and the man also found me a banana. In fact, he found me two, which he flamboyantly presented on a plate and asked me, in an imperious tone ‘will there be ANYTHING else madam?’ I didn’t much care if he was narked off or not, I had my banana so was quite happy.
This hotel is a wee bit out of the way, not really in terms of distance, as it’s less than a ten minute walk from Euston, but more in terms of the street being quiet and not well lit. Plus you can’t see the hotel sign until you get quite near it. I don’t really like walking down this street on my own at night, it’s not the best area. But I have hailed a taxi before when I didn’t really know where it was and didn’t feel safe, and the driver refused to take me because it was so near. So my best advice would be just to leg it down the street and you’ll get there soon enough.

I stayed here for a week when I first arrived in London as a starry-​eyed study abroad student.
Pros:
–Morning breakfast is delicious, includes a wide variety of food, and provides generous seating. In my experience, this is a rarity at average-​priced London hotels. It’s worth the extra £10 a day.
–The location is great — you’re right by the Euston Tube station, which will have you in the heart of London in 20 minutes tops or, if you go the other direction, will drop you off in the vibrant Camden Market in 5 minutes.
–You are within walking distance of the British Library, which is an absolute must-​see.
–The price is incredibly reasonable for a British hotel at under $ 175 USD a night for a basic room. If you pay that much for some other London hotels, you will end up staying in a sh*thole (as my mother later discovered).
–The surrounding area is heavy on sidewalks and parks, making it great for an early-​morning jog.
Con:
–The elevators and the check-​in process are very slow.
I would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a quality hotel experience but don’t want to be paying top dollar to stay at a four-​star hotel that shelters you from any ounce of actual culture.

Londres est pour moi associé au gargantuesque petit déjeuner du Thistle Hotel, à deux pas du centre, près d’un joli parc plein d’écureuils (voleurs de cookies cela dit au passge) et dans un quartier vivant et dynamique, plein d’animation et de vie.
les prix étaient très abordables, ayant profité d’une promo sur le net, et la qualité du service irréprochable (français parfaitement maitrisé, room service même pour les chambres les plus modestes…) le personnel a toujours le sourire et la gentillesse à portée de main…
si seulement nos amis anglais pouvaient en dire autant de nos hotels parisiens…

great place, pretty much central to everything. i would definitely go here again :)

This friendly centrally located hotel, right along side Euson train station. The rooms are clean and contain all the things that you require for a short stay in the city. A lovely bar area where you can enjoy a beer while watching the big screen television. There is also the restaurant in the basement. I have not eaten an evening meal here but the breakfasts are excellent containing both english and continental style buffets. With plenty of staff and great service.
The hotel is situated just a short walk from the top of Tottenham Court Road, making ideal for shopping and also the theatre district.
Reasonably priced if you shop around there always seem to be offers on for Thistle hotels, and I would not hesitate to stay here again.
