The restaurant of this hotel served the most horrible Christmas menu I have had in my life: Totally overpriced for £35 per person, featuring a version of a tamato soup one’d usually have in some really cheap canteen(half-ready type). Shrivelled turkey with some disgusting gravy and a coupon system for the bar for two drinks where the small version of a wine glass is smaller than what one usually gets in a pub for a small glass of wine. My plate had oily fingerprints and I just don’t want to imagine what goes on in that kitchen. This place has zero style and seems to employ underpaid workers. I am amazed that they could charge that amount for the food with horrible quality. Upon reading the menu one would expect some decent quality, but it was just so terrible that it spoilt the whole experience of a festive lunch. Hotel restaurants are usually bad, but this one just broke a new record.

This hotel has been recently renovated apparently. Our room was a good size(for London) and the prices were really good(for London). The electric outlet plug for the restroom worked for North American plugs as well as British. They had very large bath towels, which is a plus in my opinion. It was also very quiet in our room. This was particularly great for us, because there is a bus stop literally right in front of the hotel. We had read on trip advisor that there was a problem with noise. We asked for them to give us a room that didn’t face the front of the hotel. This worked very well, since we basically didn’t hear a thing. The whole hotel looked great. They have a cool bar/lounge area when you first come in. As you go up the stairs outside to gain entrance, the glass doors automatically open for you, which is nice because you are more than likely holding luggage. The people who worked there were very friendly and professional. We didn’t eat at their restaurant, but the room was very nice. I felt that the location was also ideal. It is very close to the British museum and to two different stations for the tube. There were perhaps a dozen restaurants close enough to throw the proverbial stick at. There was also an umbrella store very close by, which is good to know about in London. The one downfall worth mentioning is that the people who worked there were not that knowledgeable about the area. For example, the hotel really isn’t that far away from the theatre district and they didn’t have recommendations for restaurants. They did have internet handy whenever we had a question for them and they did try their best.
