The White Hart

Bit of a dive. Clinical décor, trying to be a ‘ladz bar’ rather than the lovely pub it could be. A major refurb could make this into a brilliant pub, but I would steer clear for now.
Get an open fire, some hanging baskets and stick some medieval ploughs on the wall that’d do it.

This place has potential; since the refurb it now looks nice but it has a very cold atmosphere. There are loads of plasma screens inside so if you want to scream at the football it’s probably fine. If however you want to go for a nie drink with your friends, this place has no atmosphere and is best avoided. The hideaway bar opposite is much nicer.

this pub is much better now that it’s been taken over, it used to be a dive, but it’s much classier now with a total refurb, there are plenty of plasma screens, there’s a pool table, and the bar staff are friendly, it’s a good place for a drink

This is a pub that could be so good but it lacks in every department. Its under new management who came in to turn it round but they painted it aubergine and starte selling very poor quality Tai food. The atmosphere is rough when there are people in. Smokers do get to smoke in a tent in the car park which is nice. There are loads of good pubs in Wimbledon, don’t bother here you will be so disappointed

The White Hart is pretty bland. It goes through periods of being designed and redesigned. The custom keeps on coming, although I have been the only person in there at times before.
I would be upset if there was no pub on the site, but there is noting special to personally attract me. I have found it to be expensive and very faceless in terms of décor since its last facelift. Looking more like a motorway service station than a local amenity.
I have had some good times here though, there used to be amazing student promotions when it was the School of Art night on Thursday and it was called bodrhan Barney’s but that seems long forgetten now.
They have a pool table — great
They show sky and Setanta — great, but lacks in atmosphere for games
It has a car park — great
You can drink in its concreate garden — great
Although, all said I will be found in the hideaway bar over the road because the food is tons better and I find the White Hart in Merton Park souless. My personal choice, but if you find yourself in Merton Park make up your own mind
