Great pub. Shows everything from football to shows like game of thrones. Helpful staff some nice beers in a corner of Dalston joining the cool bits of East London(Dalston and London Fields). Board games there too as well as darts and front terrace. Really like this place and not crazy packed!

This is a very cosy pub with a lot of comfortable seating. There is quite a large choice of good beers available between various cask hand pulls and keg taps. Signature Brewery and Kernel Brewery featuring strongly. And it’s hard to beat a Kernel! Another pub in the collection of formerly dodgy Daslton area pubs that are now rather more pleasant.

I went to this pub yesterday and ordered a burger. Fancy enough and obviously expensive as a lot of places are becoming now, never mind the price, the meat is of good enough quality and the bread is also quite nice but all gets ruined by the over salted fries(mostly to make you drink more) and the awful truffle flavour mayo. Why? Why do you have to ruin something like that and Why do you have to use something like really salty fries to make people buy more drinks? Said that, the staff was very nice and always smiling which helps a lot if you are having a bad day. But please change the way you serve those burgers and fries.

The Three Compasses is a Dalston local with a hidden twist. And that twist come in burger form. Now, I have heard that at one time, this pub was the dodgiest spot on the block. Fair enough, but there’s been new management in the recent future and they’ve turned it around to be a water hole right down the road from the Overground. Don’t get me wrong, Three Compasses is still not going to chic or glitz and glamour. It’s a dark pub with dark walls, a long bar and a few booths and tables. Quaint might be a nice way of putting it(dingy might not be, but it’s also true.) It didn’t actually even have a sign above the door when I went in letting me know I was in the right spot, I actually had to ask. However, there is a time and a place for local dives like this one, and if you’re in Dalston and just looking for a pint, there are worse places to go. Now, if you’re in Dalston and looking for a burger, I’m not sure there’s a better spot to go. You come here and you come here now. The Three Compasses have employed a chef who cheekily called himself Stephen Fries. And he makes burgers of epic proportions. Nothing goes into these things half hearted and each one is a work of art. I got the massive«Debbie Does Dalston» burger, which came with double patty, delicious bread, tons of veggies(including giant mushrooms) and topped off with sauce and onion rings. On the side were well seasoned tiny chips. It was the messiest burger I’ve ever eaten and without a doubt delicious. The burgers are cheap too, starting at about £6.50. Damn was that a good burger. I love little surprises like this, and this one was an epic surprise. I would make the trip back to Dalston just for another bite.
