Queensbury Kitchen, Willsden Green — I love a blogger event. Meeting different people and learning their perspective of food. This event was a sit down meal. You might get stuck with an utter bore but if that is the case, at least the food makes up for it. And for me, I find an apéritif helps me with my shyness. mango chilli caipirinha £7.00 — not too sweet and has a real kick to it. I prefer this as an apéritif and not as drink throughout the meal. apple mojito £7.00 — this ‘mocktail’ is tangy, with a hint of mint, and not too sweet. I would recommend this if you are not drinking. pinot noir caipiroska £7.00 The prosecco frizzante was one of the better ones too — quite smooth without the sharp taste that is normally associated proseccos. Shame they do not do it by the glass. On the drinks menu is a small selection of red and white wine, at around £20.00 per bottle and £4.50 — £5.50 by the glass. As introduced above, a selection of cocktails(£7.00 each) and craft beers(£4.00 — £5.00). Child friendly options are milkshakes and soft drinks. The theme of the invite was an Ultimate Queensbury Kitchen Experience. And the food was a spread of decent finger food — burgers, grilled food and sandwiches. halloumi and vegetable skewers x 2 £ 7.00 — slightly spicy and very tasty, a very fresh taste. blackened salmon £9.00 — Brilliant timing on the cooking because the flesh was so moist. Quite pink in the middle, but perfect for me. crispy chicken wings with hot sauce and sour cream £6.00 — chicken wings always speak to my heart. I find that the cumin was slightly too strong, and did not really compliment the hot sauce. slider — it looked a little plain and dry but I find myself biting into a deliciously cooked piece of meat. The brioche bun was a little too sweet though. chickpea and feta burger — surprisingly good vegetarian burger. Often chickpeas can be too dry but this is the right balance! A smear of spicy relish(not as spicy as the mango cocktail) was even better. The best part was both the burgers were not messy. Brilliant! warm sweet potato, mushroom and roasted garlic salad £8.00 — the croutons were slightly hard to bite into. whole rack of ribs £18.00 — falls off the bone, I find the sauce was slightly overpowering. a selection of sides(clockwise from top) — hand cut fries(£3.00): ones on the bottom became soggy, sweet potato fries(£4.00), smokey beans(£4.00): it was REALLY smokey, macaroni cheese(£4.00), onion rings(£3.00) Looking in from the outside, Queensbury Kitchen has a very inviting feel with the soft yellow lighting. They are relatively new to Willsden Junction but I can see that they are gaining momentum in the neighbourhood foodie scene. I enjoy the casual and social friendlyness that the place exudes. Just one long table in the middle with high chairs, surrounded by wooden benches and tables at the sides. These are proper wide tables with plenty of arm rest and enough butt room on the benches. It is not the low-cost canteen scene. It is classier. Perfect for an impromptu week night out or a laid back weekend with cocktails and some societal food. Prices are fairly reasonable with sandwiches at £7.00 served with chips, sweet potato or fries, burgers from £7.00 and the grilled food at an average of £11.00. And, let’s not forget the desserts all at £5.00 each. cinnamon sugar churros with chocolate sauce — the churros have a sophistication that one does not get on the street in spain, the chocolate sauce was delicious, if a bit milky for my taste. lime baked cheesecake — beautiful texture, with a good taste, but not tangy enough for me. ice-cream sundae –if creamy indulgence is what you are after, look no further, this is sublime! chocolate brownie and ice cream — this resembles more of a flourless chocolate cake, dense and moist, but was a dismay that the chocolate taste was not more intense. eggy bread with blackberry, pistachio and cardamom — head chef Wayne’s experiment. Not too sweet, not my kind of dessert but perhaps a custard on the side will make it nicer. Will we see this on the menu soon? Queensbury Kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch, diner and for coffee cravers for seven days a week(09:00 hours to 23:00 hours). In fact, breakfast is served until 17:00 hours. Head chef Wayne Bumfrey is a jolly soul and handling such a crowd of us including some walk in diners, he still remained a peppy personage. Thank you so much both to Queensbury Kitchen and Red Kite PR company for organising this successful and a successful Ultimate Queensbury Kitchen evening.

Lovely friendly staff, delicious coffee made with skill and fantastic atmosphere. The meals they have at dinner time are amazing. Try the Goat’s Cheese Salad! I gladly pass five other cafes on my 25 minute walk to the Queensbury. Can’t speak highly enough of the friendly service.

Sitting here now, which shows the wifi works then. Very chilled, good quality deli with some great home made food. The staff leave you alone, which is nice while you’re working and are quite happy for you to sit here for as long as you like. Gets very busy at the weekends, but as the only decent deli nearby that’s no surprise

Really good place, nice décor, just what we need in Willesden green. Friendly staff except for the owner/Manager who seems a bit cold with customers and her own staff. The Manager needs to improve her relationship with clients. It would bring even more clients to the place if the Manager made it feel a bit like a villagy type relationship. When asking the Manager where and who made the nice furniture in the store, I got a response as if I was bothering her. I just wanted to compliment and also obtain the name of the manufacturer. Anyway really good place overall, I keep going there with friends, family and on my own. The cakes are good as well. Keep going

Not sure when this opened up but it seems fairly new. I think it’s also owned by the Queensbury pub down the street. The logo is identical. Very pretty shop. Rustic benches and long tables with some little tables in the back. Lots of yummy S words. sandwich, soup, salad… soda? Oh and they make a good cappuccino. and there were tons of little treats that I was very tempted to buy. I feel like I could buy a coffee and sit here all day. and games on the bookshelves for the kiddies. I had a cap while waiting for my friend to arrive. Then we both had this yummy thick sliced bread hammy sandwich. Very mayonnaise-y which is good for me. :) And we shared their cream of celeriac and thyme soup. great late lunch. They also have fresh made preserves and jams and fancy teas and things for sale. Very cute place that I want to turn into a regular spot.

A welcome addition to the area. We need more places like this in Willesden! There is a good selection of food(sandwiches, soups, salads and cakes/pastries). Particularly good atmosphere and décor — cosy but modern — which is definitely something lacking in this area. This is probably the main reason I have given it 5 stars. There are a couple of downsides: 1. there aren’t enough seats at the moment — give us more seats please 2. the staff do not seem very experienced i. e not knowing who ordered what etc. I’m sure with some training and feedback this will improve over time. The food and coffee is also well-priced. Hopefully we will see similar cafes close to the Willesden Library soon!
