This place is a great country pub. It looks kind of like a beach pub from the outside … You can’t miss it driving past as its painted bright blue. This pub is great in summer as there is lots of benches and outdoor seating area, just try to get one that is on the flat area and not on the hill, it’s a different experience eating on a slant =P I didn’t order much food, just a bowl of olives and some fruit cider. My friend ordered a prawn cocktail, she said it was very nice. The menu is pretty extensive and there are a variety of dishes for vegetarians, the only down side for me was that their selection of salads didn’t really exist(that made me sad). Great atmosphere though and very pretty inside, if you are looking for somewhere to hang out this is the place to come.

I visited the Plough Inn Sewardstone for the third time today. I dont live that close, but today I thought of it as a nice place to walk my dog and take lunch outdoors. Firstly: the food. Everytime Ive eaten here its been solid pub food. As you walk through the restaurant, you can see everyone has cleared their plates. they have a specials board(once its gone its gone, and a couple of specials had gone today). including cajun chicken, chicken and ham pie etc. I had the nachos and my partner had the small scampi and chips(both 5.95) I really enjoyed the nachos, perfect size for one. I had the chilli and it was really nice, using black-eyed beans which looked and tasted great. When boyfriends meal came– and I saw the size of it– I immediately thought they had got the order wrong and ordered the large size — they hadnt. Large portion for 5.95! very happy with the food again, roast dinners looked great too but sadly a bit heavy for such a hot day! Second: really nice staff. A member of staff saw our dog and offered to get her a bowl of water– even though there were larger dog bowls further away. We thought this was very sweet. Otherwise the staff are sweet and smiley. Third: the views– I love to sit outside here looking out onto the countryside, honestly feels miles away from London! Lovely country views, butterflies and wildflowers galore. There is loads of outside seating and tables with parasols for very sunny days. They have a pub quiz on tuesdays, a climbing frame for the kids

A warm and friendly environment with good beer and friendly staff. Has a particularly good selection of ales Would have gotten five stars but for the team of cheats in the Thursday quiz who have been seen with a small laptop hidden behind their menus! When you enter the pub on a Thursday evening look around to your left and you will see them in the corner!(Should have been dealt with by the boss). Otherwise, as said a good place to take the family for Sunday lunch or experience the children’s play area outside. Has particularly good background music also!

The Plough is a pretty nice pub to go for a good old fashioned sunday lunch. On the sunday they typically have a carvery and there is also a standard menu too. The food is generally quite good, sometimes however the service from bimbo waitresses leaves a bit to be desired. The carvery is a novelty you pay for and the portions can seem quite small for the cost. The pub looks quite good, has a great selection of beer and real ales too. They also run this cool birthday scheme whereby you fill in a form telling them your’e birthday and at that time of year you recieve a letter wishing you well as well as a voucher for a free bottle of wine if you have a meal there. It’s only the cheapo stuff but still, a nice gesture. All in all, pretty good, but could do better. 3.5÷5
