quick walk from chiswick park and the Moran hotel… tucked off of the chiswick highroad so there is always a table cool, hippie staff with great funk who have always been cool outside seating in rear is nice on sunny days

Good neighborhood pub. Nice staff. Nice big garden. Great pub quiz on Sundays — huge fun with lots of interactive and unusual challenges. You need to book ahead to get a table. The food is hit or miss. Fish and chips were nice. Calamari was okay but a TINY portion. Pâté was gross — totally flavorless and with the texture of yoghurt. As a previous reviewer said, there’s pretensions of gourmet here but you’re better off sticking with the classics.

We have just moved back to the area and really enjoy this pub. A really good selection of beer, wine and food. Nice atmosphere and a great beer garden. Worth popping in for a pint if you are in the area.

I recently went back to the pilot and it seems that they have had a bit of a refurb. I’m not sure why this happened as it was a lovely pub before and didn’t really need it. However the refurb is very tasteful and fits the pub so it has still maintained it’s charm. This is a lovely little pub with a lot of character and a nice drink selection. It also has a lovely quiet beer garden that is perfect for use in the summer. I do really like this pub for a drink after work(I don’t even mind having to wait for a table sometimes in the evening), however I’ve scored it lower than it could have been due to the high food prices and weekend atmosphere. £15 for a Beef Sunday roast that whilst tasty is not even tepid, let alone warm, is quite a lot to ask. Also you cannot but notice that this bar on the weekends is filled with children. Whist this is great if you are looking for a child friendly pub, it’s not so if you want to relax for a nice drink away from screaming little ones! Also due to the nature of the building as it has thin windows, badly designed doors that do not always shut and doors each side of the building that end to make it into a wind tunnel, this isn’t a very warm bar for the winter months. So whilst this is a great little place for an after work drink, I shall be avoiding this place on the weekends.

Thinks it is better than it is, and the food is expensive. Service has always been good though.

I went to Pilot last night, its my friends local pub. The food was great, nice slightly modern atmosphere, but it never felt like they were trying to hard like so many places these days. I loved the bannanoffee trifle, I’m sure I’m spelling it wrong, but it was really tasty. Very friendly staff, I will be back I’m sure.

It’s my local and there are a couple of things I find charming about it. First, they’re dog friendly which is always a plus in London. Secondly, they serve a local gin(one actually made around here) which is unique. They have a nice patio out back which must seat about 40 people, but the pub itself has plenty of tables inside. Staff are friendly and chatty — I like to get to know the people I’m drinking with. Haven’t tried much of the food yet though.

Nice comfortable pub with a lovely sunny beer garden. The owners allow dogs which is always a bonus in london.

Use to to be a really nice pub, packed with lots of buz and good food. Something happened to it… was painted a different colour, food dropped a few grades, drinks prices shot up and everyone stopped going. Now the place is dead most nights. real shame.

I have had some amazing food here. My first meal in London was here and I had the fish and chips it also comes with really garlicy mushy peas. It was fantastic! The fish was so tasty and the breading was crisp. You could just tell it was really really fresh. I also had a really yummy cappuccino. Let me tell you this was just what the doctor ordered after a 9 hour flight with two small children and no sleep in nearly 24 hours. The second trip was more leisurely. We did our Easter Sunday dinner here and it was so chill! The staff are super friendly and even very sweet to our kids. The food was divine again and I left happy, full and content. This isn’t cheap food but this is truly a case of you getting what you pay for.

This is a great little pub/restaurant. Family friendly staff with a good lager selection(poor real ale selection). We have been in town for only a week and have eaten here twice. First: Sausage & Mash with a red wine reduction. Second visit: Roast Lamb lunch. roast Lamb, roast potatoes, roast parsnips(nicely caramelized), carrots and a fresh pot of mint sauce… Deeeelicious! It is rather pricey for a local pub, but come for the food not the beer and you will enjoy your time.

Choose carefully from the menu. It has delusions of gastronomic brilliance. There are some great dishes like roasts, sausage & mash and fish & chips, but much of the menu sounds more promising but is over-priced and bland. Nice place to hang out and read papers outside in the summer, or inside in winter.

This pub is owned by Fullers and is a managed house which normally means that is will have a manager who doesn’t care and the place is very average but it is great. Very friendly staff are always on hand to offer you assistance and the menu has something for everyone. I have the buffalo and it was amazing. The menu is updated regularly so you won’t get bored of it and they have some great wines to wash the food down with. Also some excellent deserts — I went with sticky toffee pudding which is sold far to often in gastro’s but it was good. It also has a nice seating area out the back which is a great way to spend the summer evenings(although it is heated during cold weather) and well worth a visit. There is a large business park nearby so it can get very busy on a Friday evening — so if you are after a romantic mealfor two, avoid and go on the Saturday

Good food, good staff and nice and friendly service. Gets very busy of a weeknight evening as people empty from Chiswick Park, but otherwise a good gastro-pub — possibly a bit pricey for some, but overall not too bad. The mixed platter of Chinese nibbles is very good value.

This is a good-looking little pub, located on a fairly residential street. Plenty of local workers find the shortcut through Gunnersbury station though and endow this place with their patronage. A few work lunches have been savoured here, and though it’s on the pricey side it always seems worth it as the food is pretty damn good. The menu’s imaginative and always seems to be changing which is lovely and far too rare. Sure-fire bets include the delicious burgers and pasta dishes. I’ve always found the staff to be friendly but the service is a little slow especially on busy Friday lunchtimes. To be in and out in a lunch break we recently adopted the strategy of ordering ahead; slightly takes the sense of ceremony out of things, but practical when there’s a large group. Take your time and this would be a perfect little lunching spot in which to while away an afternoon.
