The concept of small booths for independent designer labels has always been a winner, and Laden is a great example. Best of all, the prices are very reasonable considering you stand a chance of walking out with some truly unique pieces.
Plenty of changing rooms and helpful staff — what more does a girl need?! It’s quite cramped though, best park boyfriends in one of the bars nearby …

When my last shopping here I picked up a fabulous fleece
jacket with a reasonable cost, Amazing, I like the most the brand of the
jacket. Great basic fashions for women.

I always buy something from the Emily and Fin cubby in the back at über-​reasonable prices. Have to admit I haven’t bought anything from the other designers yet, but it’s fun to look. Bonus that the tunes they play there are usually pretty good, conducive to browsing. For me, this is a sure bet compared to rooting around in the surrounding vintage stores.

Do not be fooled: Laden Showroom is not nearly as pricey as you might think! I’ve avoided it in the past when I’m down this way to get my lashes doted on, but on a recent weekend finally popped in since my gal was running behind, and they had air conditioning. Quite a pleasant experience.
Concept: East London fashion designers stock small cubbies in this bustling stretch of Brick Lane. Despite the volume, I found it quite organized and easy to pick through. Granted, this was a weekend where most of London had escaped to the shores…
Result: A huge selection of unique, local fashion, quite worth the time to peruse.
Bonus: Rather nice changing rooms (sometimes showrooms of this type skip this step, not here!).
The haul: two flowy holiday tops, a silk scarf in summer pattern and a very nice navy draped shirt with gold neck plate — very posh and perfect for work. All for around 130 quid.
The shoes and jewelry seemed to lag behind the clothing selection… almost appeared to be the remnants.
Will def return — dresses, frocks, shirts, coats. If you are continually annoyed and disappointed with mass market fashion and its byproducts, pop in here to feed your stylish soul.

An East-​London outlet for independent designer wear, the Laden Showroom won’t disappoint if you love your threads.
Local designers fill little cubby holes in this bijou Brick Lane shop, making London fashion accessible to all. Whether you’re looking for a tea dress or something more haute couture, the Laden Showroom’s got you covered. The designers are young and burgeoning, so the costs are low.
This place is one of my London loves. And any London fashionista who’s never heard of the Laden Showroom is no fashionista at all.

I absolutely love coming here to shop, but my credit card doesn’t! This shop stocks unique limited edition clothes and accessories by independent designers. LOVE LOVE LOVE!

I got a great, unique dress here… why wouldn’t I like this place???
Any people that like fashion would like it here, yea, its small and a bit cramped, but at least they have dressing rooms! If you want to go shopping in London and get something that you can’t get anywhere else, this is a great place to hit up.
I’ll be going frequently from now on.

Wall to wall fashions at great prices from local and talented young designers? Um, can I get a HELL YES?
Treasure hunting in sartorialist heaven found me with quite a few pieces in hand that I’d have loved to purchase, from hand-​knit cabled sweaters and silky dresses to shoes, bags, belts and embellished cardigans! The store is a wee bit disheveled, but the finds are fantastic and worth picking through the not-​so-​great garb to unearth something amazing and, best of all, unique!
Walking away with a sheer tunic tank and an cardigan with jewels on the shoulders, I’m a happy little fashion fiend/​bargain hunter/​shopaholic.

Showroom on Brick Lane full of independent designers that is always good to check out if you are in the area.
Sometimes it can be quite hit and miss but it’s small enough to have a good old browse through each section and the selection is so diverse you are more than likely to find something nice.
The staff are friendly but they don’t really know the stock too well — so good for a chat but don’t ask them for different sizes as they will most likely look a little blank!
Good tunes to shop to, good layout, good stock.

I’ve been walking past this place for years, but for some reason I finally bit the bullet and got myself to go have a look inside. And, you know what? It’s a really cool place. I definatly recommend taking a look for yourself. Good selection of women’s wear by a variety of different designers and brands. Many of which I haven’t seen stocked anywhere else, so you can get yourself a cute dress or top and be happy in the knowledge you won’t look like a Topshop /​Primarni clone.
Prices are good. As is the wide selection of different styles. The shop assistant was really friendly and relaxed the last time, so bonus points for good staff.
The layout of the store, with cubbies for each designer means you don’t feel too watched either, even when you are the only customer in there. This is a massive pet hate of mine, as I hate having to justify the fact that «I’m just looking» to over attentive assistants when I want to be left alone to browse as am flat broke.
Laden is what the basement in big Topshop used to be 5 years ago before the quirky little Bazaar with it’s independant labels got eaten and spat out by trendy crap like Lipsy.

Super cute dresses (with pockets!) from designer duo emilyandfinn for 10 pounds! 10 pounds!!! Simple silhouette, clean tailoring, and they use good quality material.
I think the vintage scene in Brick Lane is overrated and overpriced. Visit Laden Showroom instead and pick up unique pieces by emerging independent designers. The style range goes from minimalist and structured to pieces clearly inspired by the late Alexander McQueen.
Most of their dresses are suprisingly around the 30 – 35 pounds range.

I love this store! All the clothes are set up in little cubby nooks filed by each independent British designer. Everything is sooo cute in here! Love big price range also – pieces range from 30 pounds to +200 pounds, but they’ve got a great selection! Just make sure to stop before you get to the Beigel Shop, since they close early!

I love dresses! I don’t just love dresses, I love love LOVE dresses. The fact that I have spent most of my adult life wearing them is testament to this. Now I’ve never actually bought a dress from Laden Showrooms but I’ve spend many an hour browsing the nooks and crannies of this store, fingering my way through fabulous and quirky upcoming designers from across the globe.
Now for a fair price you can pick up something really unique from here, it’s like the bottom floor of Top Shop Oxford Circus just on a smaller scale. Every time I visit Brick Lane Market I make a habit of popping in to have a window shop. Seriously, do it! You may end up walking out with a completly new outfit.

Im a bit befuddled by the lackluster reviews of Laden, it’s one of my favorite stores in London! I discovered it during my first trip to London and had been dying to go back, and so now I try to frequent it every time I’m in the city.
They have an amazing selection of independently designed clothing– if you’re looking for a truly one of a kind piece, this is the place to go! A lot of it is a bit pricy, however– but sometimes they have some great deals so you just have to chance it and hope that you go at the right time!
Plus they are on Brick Lane and right next to Rokit Vintage. A great place to stop when you’re in East London

3 tops for £30! Laden Showrooms has had a few mixed reviews here, some love it, some hate it and some like me just feel lucky to have survived clutching a couple of garments.
I made a total rookie mistake and took my boyfriend in here, poor devil nearly freaked out squashed by the tiny, overcrowded spaces and grabby women. I perservered and managed to scour through the trendy, the quirky and come out with three tops by cute brand Emily and Fin. The rails have the same kind of stuff as on the ‘vintage’ floor of Topshop but for much, much cheaper — so you can pick up some very good bargains. My advice: ignore the day-​glo rails unless you are looking for a good cycling in the dark ensemble.

this is one of those shops you just want to love. It isn’t until you sit down in front of your computer to write a Unilocal review that you realize– it actually isn’t that great.
The concept (a showroom for young, local designers) is noble. And browsing the stalls can be quite entertaining… but that’s just it. Visiting the Laden Showrooms is more of an art exhibit than shopping trip.

Every time I’m in London, I pay the Laden Showroom a visit, hoping that I’ll find something totally unique and exciting that nobody else has, born from the tormented, kaleidoscopic soul of a blossoming young designer, so enchanted am I with the concept. During every visit, I wander the narrow aisles, pawing the multicoloured, multitextured racks of clothes, hanging brightly in their little white booths – they all look so lovely, so chic and creative.
I have never, ever found anything that I like enough to buy there. Ever.
It’s not that there aren’t splendid things on display, like handmade tweed overcoats and parti-​coloured neon tunic dresses with bits of leather hanging off of them. All the stuff everywhere sort of sucks all the energy out of me, so that by the time I hit the second row of cubes, I just don’t feel like looking or buying anymore, and I just want to go sit quietly somewhere with a warm drink.

I really enjoy the concept of Laden Showroom, a small boutique that plays host to many designers, but something about it doen’t quite work.
The interior is a little sterile, sectioned off white little areas that are filled to the point of over visual stimulation with clothes.
I’m sure if you dedicated a good hour or so to searching through everything in the store, you’d unearth something amazing. I tend to find myself browsing, and feeling a bit jaded. There is a really fit man who works in there though!

This shop is fantastic for supporting independent designers. You’ll find some great stuff in here, unusual, funky, chic, a real mix of beautiful clothes for all occasions.
The shop is set out in small cubicles of the different designers (including Orion and Mandoza) and this can make it difficult and frustrating when looking through the clothes but if you’re patient enough you’re bound to come across something you like. It’s particularly good for discovering cheap deals during the end-​of-​season sales.

I used to own a little clothes boutique in Hampton Court. When I took it over I wanted to make it fresh and stylish, and aim to support up and coming designers. To get inspiration, I headed over to Brick Lane and into the Laden showrooms. I really like the principle here — that designers are given a platform to showcase their clothes, and the cost of each item is marginally cheaper than it would be ordinarily, so that the public are encouraged to buy.
I remember finding a great designer here called Jenny Redstone, and she had a section in Laden called Redstones which did t-​shirts with prints on them. I brought about 40 from her, and within a couple of months had got lots of girls from Hampton Court into them.
Around that time there was a section by a designer who I now see has got a shop near Carnaby Street. It is not unusual for the designers to head on to bigger venues, so this is a great way to catch them before their clothes get mega– expensive. Admittedly, some of the clothes can be a bit hit and miss, but for the most part, there will always be something in here which will catch my eye.
