Gav is the man! He’s been carefully and stylishly taking care of my pixie cut and I’ve been thrilled with the results. The salon space is chic, the staff are all friendly and chill, and it’s an all-​around positive experience every time I go. High recommend Gav and The King’s Canary.

Everyone was welcoming and friendly, and Claire did a lovely job cutting my long, curly, unruly, and at the time snarled hair. She was totally patient with the ‘before’ situation and by the time she was finished I could probably have thrown on a dress and gotten married — and the blow out lasted for days.

The King’s Canary is a great salon, and really conveniently located if (like me) you work in central London — it’s the only decent haircut I’ve found within a sensible distance of Oxford Circus!
I’m usually quite picky about my haircut, and usually end up telling the barber exactly what to do. However, this is one of the first places where I haven’t had to do that. Gavin is a good laugh, as is everyone else who works there.
I’ll definitely be back again.

The King’s Canary is a new salon in Fitzrovia. It’s a great space — open and bright inside, high quality but unpretentious.
My hair can be difficult to cut, and I’m picky with choosing a barber/​hairdresser. In short, it’s thick and grows fast. I’ve paid a lot for haircuts in the past, but always been disappointed when I need another in just a few weeks. I’ve never had that problem at The King’s Canary — the staff take the time to listen to what you want, and then get to work.
Everyone is chilled out — very friendly, and you don’t have to endure awkward conversation like you do at many salons. Highly recommended.
