I have had good meals here, especially when I’ve eaten at the location. However, the service and quality could be a bit unpredictable. The thing that made me actually update my review to drop the rating by a star was seeing meat for my wrap come out of the microwave. From reading other reviews I can tell that this was not a one-off event. To top it off, they heated up the bread for the wrap on the charcoal grill… There are definitely better and more consistent establishments to get a kebab in the area.

This used to be by far the best Kebab shop in Balham, mainly because the standard was so much higher than any other kebab shop. It was the place we took visiting friends after a big night out, and on more than one occasion was used to convert those who believed that all kebabs in this country are of layby kebab-van quality. We stopped going for a while — possibly for the sake of our waist measurements — and I can only assume the ownership has changed in that time. The usual guy has disappeared, a TV now seems to show football late at night(and brings the atmosphere that a kebab shop full of drunk football fans will), and on the last two times I’ve been in there and ordered a Shawarma, they’ve microwaved the meat in a tupperware box. This is by far the biggest issue. I used to go pretty late, and it would still be cut off fresh — or you would at least be told it was finished and could choose a Shish instead — but the past two times they’ve taken my order, and with no subtlety ever, microwaved me a kebab… The microwave is by the door into the back kitchen, a guy stands and watches it cook, then takes the tupperware box out, and tips it into a wrap, and there’s your freshly made Shawarma. I’m usually drunk at the time, so I probably wouldn’t actually mind if the kebab was still good, but both times it’s been full of gristly bits, and last time when I got home, I was pretty annoyed to find that the Lamb in the Mixed Shawarma — previously juicy delicious chunks — was actually just Doner Meat.

It was dissapointing that The Kebab Company binned my food before I finished eating, while I was not looking(we stood huddled around a table, it was clear we were not finished) Instead of an apology the manager pulled the schwarma back out of the bin & offered back to me! absolutely AWFUL! she then offered to warm it up ‘if i want’. Needless to say, i did not want. By the time they conceded and replaced it, I lost all appetite for the place.

Best home made kebabs and burgers. This place is awsome with the friendly staff who are welcoming and all food is cooked over an open BBQ pit. Better than going to your local kebab shop. Fresh chilli and garlic sauce and not your typically squeeze out of a bottle stuff. Would recommend to anyone who likes the occasional kebab and burgers.

Have visited the Kebab Company a few times, once or twice after having a few too many drinks, and other times for lunch on the weekend. We’ve found it to be pretty damn good actually — well, as far as a greasy kebab can be. The prices aren’t bad and the vegie kebab is a good option. The staff are generally on the ball and keen enough to get your order spot on and on time, although have made a few small mistakes in the past.

This place seems to be aping the GBK and it’s followers in terms of outside design, but sadly falls below the high standards of the top quality fast food emporiums which are swamping london’s streets. Inside, it’s merely a kebab shop, doing decent fare at ok prices, but it could have pushed the boat out a little more methinks to match up to it’s classy exterior. If you want real good bab, pop round the corner to the marmaris! Them do good food.
