The Japanese Knife Company

If you love to cook, then the Japanese Knife Company is a place that you have to visit.
We were headed to the Wallace collection when husband and sister spotted a chess set and chairs at a shop nearby and decided to stop for a game. I told them that I would wait for them at JKC as I had been wanting to visit the shop for ages.
They changed their minds and decided to walk into the store with me, while the husband tried to argue «a knife is a knife is a knife» Within 5 minutes of entering the shop, he was eating his words. Jai gave us such an amazing demonstration, from onions that didn’t make our eyes cry (because of the sharpness of the blade) to slicing tomato slivers that we didn’t think could get any thinner.
We spent 2 hours at the shop while he demonstrated different knives and gave us backgrounds on the families who forge some of these knives. It was very well done and did not feel like hard sell at all.
Some of the knives are works of art. 128 layers of steel pressed to less than a millimetre! And then the carving on some of them. Absolutely beautiful.
There’s a section downstairs with beautiful handles specifically for carving roasts at the table.
They have these very interesting water sharpeners and cases for your knives.
I ended up picking a multi purpose knife that works for everything except frozen meat and butchery (both of which I don’t do) They even printed my name on it in a couple of minutes.
I have to go back to pick up my knife, because I was worried it would get confiscated at museum security. Can’t wait to start using it!

The Japanese Knife Company is the perfect shop in the whole of London, if you’re looking to buy the perfect or ideal kitchen knife.
The staff here at JKC, are very helpful when it comes to knife knowledge.
There are two other JKC shops in London, one in Soho and one just off High Street Kensington.
And they even give you demonstration on how these knives work on certain foods.
In my point of view, Japanese chef knives are perfect and superior for accurate cutting.
So if you’re looking for number one top quality kitchen tools, the Japanese Knife Company
is the best place to go and invest in.
One might think you should or would have to be a professional chef to own a Japanese chef knife.
But that’s not always the case. However, you do not even have to be a chef to own, use, and experience the
amazing cutting quality these Japanese knives bring to the dinner table.
As a matter of genuine fact, Japanese knives are the best in the world,
and that is because of the samurai sword-​making era.
