Monopoly Pub Crawl — Stop #1 — Old Kent Road(Brown) The George is a friendly local old man boozer at the south end of Tower Bridge Road and is probably the closest thing to a local(if I were of the mind to stop off on the way home for a pint) I have. It’s nothing special but it is warm, welcoming, and, most importantly for this crawl, it opens at 10.30am and is well staffed with smiling and patient bar staff. After a quick breakfast, we special few alcoholics assembled at the pub for a half pint of Courage to get us started. The board made its first appearance of the day and the older barman was quick to get his stamp out to mark our first stop as completed. The liquid Courage went down easily(although we had to hurry Ian«always late» P along). Then we were off — along with 3 other groups because let’s face it, the only reason you are in the pub at 10.30am is for this crawl(barring that one local who just wanted a fry up). Overall, an excellent place for a simple pint and extra points for top quality service early on a Saturday morning.

Former Truman pub that is alright to look at but didn’t really impress me beyond that. Only serves my 2nd least favourite ale. Courage Best(yeah, right) Bitter.
