Although there’s a big kid inside me, I don’t tend to visit toy shops often these days. However, Christmas does offer the perfect excuse to pop in to browse for gifts for little ones. I had to find a gift for my god-daughter and the Entertainer seemed a good choice to begin my search. The shop is medium sized but has a fairly good selection of toys organised into age groups. In the end, I couldn’t decide on a particular gift and settled on a giftcard, which she should be able to spend at their branch in Southampton. Incidentally, the Entertainer chain doesn’t open on Sundays as the owner is a devout Christian

This is quite a small toy shop, but once you get inside it is crammed full with all sorts of toys ranging from the traditional to the new release toys. It can be difficult to get around as it is so full but well worth a visit and the often have good deals on toys. It is handy being right in the town centre, and therefore close enough to any of the local car parks or just across the road from the Centre Court shopping centre. Worth a visit if you need a toy shop, but beware if you take the kids in it could take a while and a few tears to get them out!

The Entertainer is quite a large toy shop just near Wimbledon tube station. It has a wide range of toys for ages up to around 13 years and the shelves are always packed out. It’s a good place to start looking for a gift for those little ones in your life. You’re bound to find something in here. They have scooters, barbies, action heroes, figurines, drawing books, cuddly toys, games-the list goes on and on. The prices are pretty good as well and the staff are always on hand to help.
