The Dali Universe

A phenomenal exhibition. Truly takes you to a different level of art. Spiritual and breath taking. No doubt that Dali was and is one of the greatest of them all, but seeing is believing. The collection is just amazing, inspirational and unique.

Dali is by far my favorite artist. I love his work so much that I chose to pay the £14 entrance fee despite the fact that London is full of free museums. I was extremely disappointed. As other reviewers have pointed out, there aren’t really any Dali originals here (except for, perhaps, some sketches). Rather, it is filled with replicas and sculptures created by others but «inspired» by his work. What a huge letdown. London has some of the best museums in the world, and they’re all free. This is not one of them. Even for the most diehard Dali fan, the price is way too steep.

Inspirational — My one word description
Dali Universe gives you a great insight into his life, which helps you understand his art work better. People who see things at a different angle make life so much more interesting.
If you get there before 5:00 you can go downstairs to create your own masterpiece or watch his documentary.
If you like surreal art, this place should be on your list to visit!

Well, since I was miffed about having to do the «eye» I got my way paid into the Dali Universe. Good thing cuz the price, if I was paying would have set me off another rant. Too expensive and after completing it, thought it was way overpriced, and left feeling that I wouldn’t have missed anything if I hadn’t gone. Complete opposite of the Tate Modern and the Chagall Museum in Nice. Glad I didn’t pay!

If you like unique, eclectic, eccentric, art then Dali Universe is for you!
While my parents went to the Aquarium, I hopped into line for Dali — Apologies London but when you’ve got the best Aquarium in the world at your disposal (Monterey Bay — California) nothing else compares so why bother… parents learned this lesson the hard way but who am I to say told you so
Walk through this really cool, long hallway that showcases Dali’s life — how he got into art, a lot of his famous quotes & tons of interesting tidbits
Then enter this huge room, full of Dali sculptures, sketches, paintings — most are lithographs or reproductions & few few originals but it was nice to see such a good representation all lumped together.
Downstairs there is a Picasso section that was nice & as you’re leaving the exhibit, there is a great room of work for sale from artists I haven’t heard of, but then again, I’m just an ignorant American

I found this place to just be OK, nothing to rave over by any means. It was overpriced for what it was, I think if it had been free or just a few pounds it would have been four stars but 12 pounds was too much. So many of the museums in London are free (or very inexpensive) and this one is 12 pounds? Yeah, that bothered me! I wish there had been more sculptures/​pieces rather than so many sketches. Some of the pieces just seemed like junk, to be honest. On the other hand, there were a few very cool pieces.
I just wasn’t WOW-​ed and a bit bothered by the cost. I realize 12 pounds isn’t exactly a lot of money for a museum but I have never really been bothered by the cost before.
My favorite part was the art gallery at the end where you could purchase drawings and/​or other pieces. Some of them were so amazing! My husband and I were laughing, saying we wished the ones in the art gallery were in the actual museum. They had pieces by other artists as well that could be purchased. I spent more time in the art gallery than I did in the museum.
Overall, it was an OK museum. As I mentioned, I would have loved it a lot more if it was free! It was just overpriced for what it was.

The Dali Universe is an extensive museum and art gallery celebrating most of Dali’s life and works. It’s right next to the Aquarium on the Southbank. You can’t miss this place, there are two large Dali sculptures just outside the museum. It’s a really odd place for a Dali gallery I’ve always thought but it’s pretty cool.
You don’t have to be a Dali fan to enjoy this place. You get an idea of who Dali was, what motivated his works etc… if you just want to wander around and see some cool sculptures, art works and paintings and know nothing about the forefather of Surrealism then it’s cool just for a casual visit.
I’d recommend this most certainly to any art buff or tourist looking for something different to do on the Southbank.

Having known a bit about the work of Dali, I decided to go and visit this exhibition in London. The trip was an excellent insight into his work, and the audio guide was a great help to increase my understanding. Well worth a visit!

I hated studying art at school (mostly because I was rubbish at it) and Dali was probably the only artist I studied that I really admired. On visiting this attraction, I was a little disappointed that most of the exhibits consisted of his pencil drawings and that his most well known work (and my two favourite paintings) were missing. However, it was great to see some of his other work, and I felt that this attraction offered quite a multimedia experience — the audio guide was good, and it was fantastic to see the sculptures, which are much more impressive than the pictures of them which I’d seen before. There were also a number of films, which were interesting. However, what really won me over was the attention to exploring the man’s weird and wonderful life. My favourite part of the attraction was a hall at the beginning which was plastered in Dali quotes — it really offered an insight into his mind and got me in the mood for the gallery.
Like others, I was very impressed by the range of unique items in the gift shop but it was so expensive I only bought a postcard! It’d be great if you wanted to buy a gift for an art fan though. Definitely worth a visit if you’ve been inspired by Dali.

I went here with my girlfriend who is a huge dali fan and i found myself inspired by his work. I so wanted to take half of it home. The place is amazing. If you like art at all then go take a look

Dali Universe is my favourite gallery in London. It’s conveniently located just by the London Eye but inside it’s surprisingly quiet.
I’m a massive fan of Dali and I took my girlfriend here, who had a limited knowledge of Dali’s work, but who came out a true fan.
The gallery must have hundreds of his works including paintings, drawings and sculptures, and includes furniture based on his designs. I wanted to take most of it home with me. Although a fan, Dali Universe opened up a whole new world of Dali’s work for me — there was plenty there that I didn’t know he had done. As I’m sure would please Dali, I left shocked, surprised, enlightened, puzzled, yet very happy and wanting more.
On the way out there is a ridiculously overpriced café that serves mediocre food. It’s not even Dali themed and it’s not really worth stopping there. Just by the exit though there is a lovely little Dali gift shop, selling all sorts of Dali inspired products. Expensive, but a lot of the stuff you can’t get from anywhere else, which I unfortunately found out to my cost.
I’d recommend this place to anyone — I’ll certainly be going back.

If you like random artists and art, and also are curious about Dali, then you will like this gallery/​museum in the heart of London. Right on the busy streets of the South Bank, just by the London Eye, you would expect this place to be bustling — but it is eerily quiet, and in fact that gives in the atmosphere it needs.
It has many pieces of art, including paintings and sculptures, some famous ones that are instantly recognisable, and others which are interesting to look at because they are not so familiar. They chart his artistic history, his influences and give a real insight into the mad genius of one of the most orginal painters we have seen in Europe.
This place has all the usual things such as a café etc, which is a little overpriced, but that aside it is well worth a fvisit because it is a fascinating, if not educational place.

I absolutely loved this exhibition. I knew and was familiar with his paintings and sculptures, but I had no idea he did such amazing drawings. they are incredibly detailed and intricate.
He did illustrations for books, which were brilliant, and I would definately reccomend this even if you don’t think you like Dali.

This exhibition houses mainly Dali’s drawings. If you’re interested in this then it is worth seeing but do not expect to see some of his most famous pieces here. There is also a lot of information on his life and the giftshop has a lot of unique. It’s never crowded and is good value for money.

I love Dali, and would recommend this expo to fans and non-​fans alike.
If you do go, make sure you get the audio guide, as it significantly improves your experience. They actually have more info in there than on the tags next to the exhibits!

one thing that keeps me going back to dali is the floor space, extremely spacious for all the art works, its never over crowded and now there’s a discount for entries, recently a café has just been opened, if you feel like having a snack, you are welcome there.

This is a permanent exhibition in County Hall on the South Bank. This exhibition is dedicated to Salvador Dali who was one of th great spanish artists. It has got an astounding amount of art work. When I went there I never thought I would see that many things. This collection gives you an insight to his life. Its like you can understand what he was like — a genius.

Kleine Ausstellung von Bildern und Skulpturen Dalís.
In der County Hall Gallery gegenüber des Big Ben und neben dem London Eye ist das Dalí Universe beheimatet. Entgegen vielen kostenlosen Museen Londons muss man hier 12 Pfund pro Touri bezahlen, um eine überschaubare Anzahl von Bildern und Skulpturen sehen zu können. Die Bilder gehen weniger in die Richtung, die man im Allgemeinen kennt, sind durch ihre Abwechslung aber nicht weniger interessant (Zeichnungen, Pastelle, Skizzen, Collagen etc.). Die Skulpturen sind allesamt sehr schick (z.B. das berühmte Lippen-​Sofa oder die Uhren-​Sachen). Nach einer knappen Stunde war dann aber auch schon alles besichtigt.
Neben den Dalí-​Sachen waren aktuell noch Picasso-​Werke zu sehen.
Fazit: Eigentlich eine niedliche kleine Ausstellung, aber für meinen Geschmack etwas zu teuer.
Eintritt: viel (12 Pfund, ermäßigt 10 Pfund)
Größe: eher klein
Besucherdichte: niedrig (und damit angenehm)

Plus de 500 oeuvres d’art, les oeuvres sont des copies de Dali et autres. Allez à la Tate galerie pour voir certaines vraies oeuvres. Par contre c’est rapide et assez cher 8,50 livres.
