The City Bar & Grill

One of those places, out of context wouldn’t be that special, but it’s a welcome addition to London City Airport… while there are a few places you can grab a quick snack or food, this is one of the only proper sit down restaurant in the airport at the moment.
Everything I’ve had here is pretty much to standard, I haven’t been blown away but haven’t really been disappointed either… in my experience they do well on the critical aspect, being an airport, which is getting things out to you quickly
The place seems a tad expensive, but it’s an airport and Boots meal deal aside a decent amount of food will set you back at most of the outlets as well so if you have the time to spare this is probably the better option if you’re actually hungry.
They have a couple of departure screens in the area so you’re able to keep tabs on your flight, and there’s a walk up bar should you just want a pint or glass of wine while you anxiously await your next journey.

Just stopped for a drink before flying, lovely waitress, super speedy service, reasonable prices, nice view of the planes taking off. It feels like a sleek city bar in a busy airport. I’m busy watching the staff make all the grumpy flyers feel good about themselves. That’s got to be worth 5 stars.

Tasty pasta (I had the wild mushroom pasta sauce with tomato and mozzarella ravioli) that was with me super quick, friendly staff and a nice clean décor.
Decent spot for a glass of vino and food at LCY before your flight. Cost £20 for a wine and pasta compared to the £17 I paid for brekkie the week before in another of the airport’s restaurants so for a proper sit down meal it’s the best value spot in the airport IMO

I stopped by here this morning as my flight to EDI had been delayed for a. Purple of hours.
Not particularly busy at 6am but gradually started filling up as more flights were delayed
Ordered tea and crumpets, tea arrived within a few mins but two crumpets took a good 20mins and these were ordered when it hadn’t started to get busy!
Staff polite and courteous I will give them another go

I ate breakfast at the City Bar & Grill before an early flight to Edinburgh. The food came quickly but was still a decent quality — just what you are after at an airport restaurant. The prices are high but service was good — when my flight was cancelled, the staff were fine with me running to customer services to sort it out, before returning to finish my tea and pay. Granted they have a fairly captive market but I would happily return to the Grill on my next trip through City Airport.

Worst and most expensive pint of Guinness I’ve ever had! But what did I think I was going to get from a bar in London City Airport!

If you’re in London City Airport and have a bit of time on your hands while craving a bite to eat this is a good spot. I’m always a bit skeptical of food on-​the-​go however this was a pleasant surprise. Obviously space is limited and when the airport is super busy space is a luxury even in the restaurants. I was placed at a counter spot facing out toward the planes which was fine however I felt extremely close to my fellow diners. The food was nice, their selection of wines is decent and the create your own pasta dish is quite tasty. A diner next to me ordered the chocolate sampler dessert and it looked pretty damn amazing too. City Bar & Grill offers timely service as you’d expect given the location and the staff was attentive and friendly. I’ll certainly keep this in mind when I have to enjoy dinner or lunch on the go. This American Southerner via London knows dinner on-​the-​go isn’t a proper gentleman’s way, but when you must this is the place to eat, y’all.

The best breakfast in town! Poached eggs and full english is divine and service and layout first class.
