First visit: High-end British-style food, well prepared and with good service. The kitchen is certainly aiming high, but with less than uniform results: some of the menu items were better than others and I wouldn’t say that I was totally knocked out by the bbq quail that i ordered, although the side of beans and the salmon appetizer that I had were quite excellent. Service was attentive and pleasant, as noted. Prices reasonable for the occasional splurge, I will try eating here again at some point in future as this time I was in a bit of a rush to finish and so missed dessert… Second visit: Excellent and large charcuterie plate, with one of the meats having a nice smokey black pepper flavour and another having hints of cinnamon, a nice bean and chorizo soup and some sort of egg-cod-potato on toast dish(very tasty) service again quite friendly. price good. Upgraded from 4 to 5 stars Third visit: Lobster soup for appetizer, very good, charcuterie also good. Mains: Monkfish & Hereford Steak. The steak was amazing, the monkfish just good, although the side of potatoes was very tasty. Keep it at five for now(I played a very winning post-meal game of cribbage at the table while finishing the wine) but again, the great mains are super good(steak) whereas some others are less than totally awesome(monkfish) One more visit: Went for Sunday roast with family. Had a large piece of beef split 3 ways and a roast chicken. Beef was very nicely done and chicken also flavorful. Split charcuterie for appetizer but thought it less amazing than during previous visits. Still, overall a good meal. Service both friendly and patient.

The Camberwell Arms has only been open a couple of weeks so you can still turn up and take your choice of stools at the bar or by the open plan kitchen; we grabbed a table in the dining area at the back of the pub. Like it’s sibling establishments there are no table reservations. I liked this place a lot as soon as I sat down: a reasonable selection of beer, a well priced wine list and a good looking menu — 6 starters and 5 mains with a couple of specials on the blackboard. Very tasty, well prepared food at a reasonable price with plenty of good vibes. Well worth a visit …
