I’ve stayed at the hotel several times over the years and absolutely love the restaurants and rooms. I thought I would give the spa a try this go around as I was suffering from a pretty bad case of jet lag. I called up and got right in the next day, signing up for a day pass, facial and a 1 hour deep tissue massage. The spa is very nice. Loved the quaint, peaceful little outdoor relaxation area. I actually fell asleep it was very lovely. Unfortunately that was the only perk of the spa. The bathroom supplies for those who take a shower are severely lacking. No brushes, no mouthwash, no women’s speciality toiletries. The services were very subpar. I had to keep reminding the therapist that it was a deep tissue. I felt the therapist distracted. The facial wasn’t exactly a facial. I had oil rubbed on my face, it was then cleaned off and lotion was applied. No exfoliating, no extractions, no offers to clean up the remaining makeup nor an offer/ability to reapply. very poorly executed. The bill for these«services» was outrageous. Over $ 500 pounds. I was stunned. I have to say for such a great hotel/restaurant, I was extremely disappointed. Unless the management addresses and corrects some of these very simple things, I shall not be returning to their spa.
