Authentic Thai food. Great lunch location for people who work around the area.
Good value for £6.9 for one course and £9.9 for two course meal. Tried their calamari and satay chicken, both good but the portion is slightly small.
Also tried the Massman curry with chicken, very Thai flavour and I like the fact that you can taste the hint of coconut milk added.
Will definitely come back again.

Delicious. Quick. Spicy. Thai Thai was one of the many Thai restaurants I have tried recently and here is my take on it. I have to begin by saying I have to say that I have only ever ordered take-​away and so far I have only ever had good experiences with them. Two dishes that really stuck out to me were the Pad-​Thai chicken, which was really delicious and by far one of the best ones I have tried recently, as well as the Kang Panang (chicken) which was also delicious but packed quite a bit of heat, the only thing I have to complain about was that the chili’s inside my Kang Panang were chopped quite large and it did not blend well into the dish, I just picked them out, but the overall flavor was so good! Also whilst ordering I did not realize that the Kang Panang did not come with a side of rice, which considering the price I paid I just assumed would be included, but there wasn’t any, which was my fault for not checking. However the food was delicious and I have to say it is one of my go to places for quick delicious Thai food.

We still only get takeaway here, but I’ve ordered enough dishes now to have a better grip on what’s good. The short answer is: the Tom Yum soup and the curries are 5-​star-​worthy, although the level of heat is variable, and sometimes the Tom Yum is nuclear hot rather than pleasantly tingly. The noodles and stir fries aren’t as good, maybe 3 stars.
I HATE how much they charge for basic Jasmine rice to go with the curry, to the point where I sometimes make it myself when I’m ordering from them. And I’m not a huge fan of how many hoops I have to jump through to get decent prices — at the moment, it involves Topcashback to HungryHouse to these guys to get about 20ish% off their otherwise quite high prices. But the Massaman and red curries are the best I’ve found around here so far, so I’m sticking with them until I find an alternative.

I wanted to give this place more stars because the waitress who initially served us was lovely, we both ordered Pad Thais one with prawns and the other mixed seafood. Although the flavors were ok the noodles were overcooked and just really average. The restaurant wasn’t full and there were a lot of staff on but the service was painfully slow, with some waiters even walking right past customers trying to wave them down. The lighting was very dark with techno music playing too loudly for an evening meal. We wondered whether it turned into a nightclub after a certain hour? It has potential to be a really good restaurant, with a bit of an interior makeover (it was an odd mash of modern thai and 90s disco) and some focus on getting the basic thai dishes right.

I have been to a lot of places around Old Street and my personal favourite is ThaiThai. The décor here is pretty but it’s the quality of the food that keeps me coming back for lunch. It can be a bit hit and miss (the gyoza are dry and not all that) but ThaiThai’s Pad Kee Mao noodles with beef are really delicious with that basil leaf flavour! The portions are not large but the taste is more than worth it.
I have had the Mee Goreng noodles with chicken as well and they were nice, but nothing hits the spot for me like the Pad Kee Mao which are delicately spiced and flavourful without being too spicy. I am not a big fan of the fishcake appetisers but some of my friends can’t get enough of those either. For weekday lunch it isn’t crowded but if you are taking a lot of people, maybe make a booking.

Thai Thai offers quality and tasty food for an affordable price. The atmosphere is quite nice, although it can sometime be rather noisy on weekends. During the week it offers an almost romantic setting. The chairs are quite worn out, and would need to be replaced. Despite that I would definitely recommend the restaurant.

Called into Thai Thai at about half 7 on a Saturday night and managed to get a table for 4 with no hanging about at all. Normally this would set some alarm bells ringing for me but beggars can’t be choosers.
The food was a bit hit and miss. We got the veggie and meat sharer platters between the 4 of us and everything was just a little bit samey. All the food was beige and deep fried and not particularly tasty. Definitely stick to individual things if you are extra hungry (avoid the fishcakes entirely though).
The main meals were a lot better. The penang particularly impressed although the massaman lacked a bit of flavour. I went for the chicken pad krapow which was disappointing.
Service was very good so they get an extra star for that however it’s not the cheapest and it’s not the best. The only way I can sum up my experience is with a good old… It’s OK

Had a lovely meal here last night. Had read some mixed reviews so wasn’t sure at first when a friend suggested it but we had a great experience!
The food was cooked perfectly and the staff were really attentive. Our wine was lovely and served at perfect temperature and the waiters kept us topped up!
I’d really recommend the pad kee maow. Everything was delicious and feasted light not oily. A great place to pop in to if you’re in the area :)

La première fois que nous y sommes allés a été assez décevante pour moi. Mon plat était bon sans être exceptionnel, contrairement à mes amis qui ont été extrêmement satisfaits des leurs.
J’ai donc retenté ma chance, et effectivement, certains plats valent le détour.
Comment savoir si on va tomber sur le super plat ou sur le bof bof? Challenge risqué.
En tout cas, le Ped Makahm (canard) est apparement délicieux avec du riz au lait de coco. Pour ma part, je trouve le Pad Thai aux crevettes assez bon. Les gyozas, eux, sont excellents.

I was really pleasantly surprised by this spot. We had the £9 lunch deal with veggie potstickers and pad kee mao (the flat ‘drunken’ noodles I am now so obsessed with!)
The noodles were particularly tasty and there was enough to take home for a mid-​afternoon snack. Lovely décor and interesting techno Indian music. Would return!

Ordinarily I reserve 1-​star reviews for restaurants that deliberately spite me, but there was just so much ‘meh’ here tonight that I feel it is deserved…
First, the only reason this place is packed is because it takes over 2 hours to eat here on a Friday night. First, 20 minutes to get a waiter, 10 minutes to get drinks, 20 minutes more to get appetizers, 45 minutes more to get mains, then you’ve got to eat them before trying to get someone’s attention again to pay for it all. It was ridiculously slow.
Then, the prices: Why should Thai food be dramatically more expensive than Indian? I don’t see why it should be. Thai’s way easier to cook, and cheaper to make. To charge someone £3 for plain, white rice when they’ve already paid £10 for an entrée is ridiculous — Especially when a 12.5% service charge will be added next!
Lastly, the selection of food, and the execution of that food, was simply average. There wasn’t anything on the menu I hadn’t seen a thousand times before. And the preparations are exactly as one would expect, with no frills or impressive garnishes.
In the end, I was just happy dinner was over and we could get some fresh air outside (it was warm in there!). I’m pretty sure no one in our party will be coming back.

The food here is fantastic. It is presented beautifully and tastes amazing.
We had the meat platter for starters and loved it. We ate it between two of us but you could easily split it between three.
We all enjoyed our main courses. I had the stir fry which came in a rich oyster sauce with prawns and coconut rice as was recommended on the menu. That rice stood out as the best thing of the night. Seriously. It was delicious. Especially with the stir fry.
The interior of the restaurant is pretty impressive and quite chic looking. You can tell some thought goes into presentation (of the food as well as the restaurant). It gives a good impression which the food lives up too!
Only negative is that service was quite slow. Wouldn’t stop me from going again though!

I go here a lot for lunch during the work week. They have a large lunch menu which is absolutely a bonus when you’re looking for something a bit different every day! The lunch menu recently went down in price too (!!!). The staff are generally very attentive and the meals come out swiftly. Although there have been times when the restaurant is packed and the staff seemed to have difficulty managing this. All in all, I love good thai food and this place is great value for money. Yum!

I can’t comment for the dinner experience here, however I’m a regular diner during the lunch hour as they have a fantastic deal (£8 for starter and main). Couple this with the excellent quality of Thai food (try the green curry, it’s pure yum!) and the entertainment and you have a satisfying lunch right there!

Expectations were low based on the reviews but we were pleasantly surprised. We had great food and fast service. A lot of London Thai restaurants do not serve pad see ewe so we were happy to see that Thai Thai does! I hope the next time we visit we have the same pleasant experience.

Used to go here at least once a week (especially with Tastecard) but the food has slipped to the point of greasily unpleasant.
It’s a shame as the vibe is nice and the floor staff always treated us like regulars. Sedap next door has Malaysian food that tastes a hell of a lot more fresh.

I am sorry to say that their standard fell dramatically after the original manager went back to Bangkok. When we visited in November and March, the service was pretty bad — we had a rude, unfriendly waitress telling us off about the booking — not our fault — and the service in general was bad; however the food was still OK (not as good as before though). On our visit last Sunday, the service was better, but the food worsened. My favourite Tod Mun Pla (Fish Cake) had odd chemiacl taste/​smell and was spongy and soft. All the main course dishes were way too salty, and the rice was not properly cooked. It used to be an excellent Thai restauant, but now it is below average. I don’t think I will go back…

I suppose I had really low expectations of this place because 1) I was claiming the free meals using my toptable points and 2) not such great reviews. I suppose I was pleasantly surprised because the selections available for the free meal was quite a lot. We ordered the typical dishes — prawn toast, chicken satay and thai fish cakes. For mains, chicken green curry, duck red curry and chicken pad thai. All very well prepared and tasted good. I’d definitely come back here.
Only thing that I didn’t like was that it was really steamy. Eventually they did open the door which made it less humid but I can’t imagine what it would be like to sit in this restaurant during summer.

Went there with 4 other friends and booked a table for dinner earlier that morning to get 50% off the bill.
During our booking, we strongly requested seats on the first floor. When we got there, the semi rude waitress told us that the first floor was full and have to bring us to the underground level– no bueno. The atmosphere is so much worst down at that little dungent. Awful.
There were a wide variety of food on the menu. We each picked 2 dishes just to find out that the 50% off deal requires each customer to order one appetizer and a main. This really got on our nerves as it never says so online. We were each to order 2 dishes where the total would already cost more than app+main. One word — LAME.
Appetizers were small and unfulfilling. Food came, salty as HELL. The river prawns were big but the spicy prawn dish was overly spicy and salty, and sweet. My friend’s pad Thai was too sweet, and my other friend’s pad see ew was too salty as well. The sea bass was TOO SALTY. It wasas if they sprinkled a jar of msg to flavor their dishes. The only good dish was the beef curry, which my friend gets every time she goes.
Conclusion: nice atmosphere but dont be fooled folks! skippable
