Taste

History

Established in 2013.

Taste is the training restaurant for the Hospitality and Catering Academy at South Thames College. Our kitchen and front-​of-​house staff are students of the academy, so when you book a table with us, you’re not only getting great food at a discounted price, you’re also helping them gain the real-​world experience they’ll need for their future careers.

Our menu features seasonal produce, some of which is grown on-​site. The restaurant is open for lunch every Wednesday and Thursday during term time from 12.00pm-2.30pm, with our coffee bar open on the same days from 10.30am-2.30pm. Taste restaurant can also be hired for private functions, including drinks receptions and dinners.

Meet the Manager

Manager

Amy has managed our restaurant since it opened its doors in 2013. She started working in the hospitality industry immediately after leaving school, and since then she has mastered the art of making people feel special in a range of venues, from cocktail bars to 4* hotels, in both the UK and her native New Zealand. Her vast experience in the industry has made her a strong leader for our students working and learning in Taste.
