The food is good, but it take half hour for one dish. We ordered three. Want cry! My friends and I use out all energy to waiting. Super slow.

I feel like I was suckered into this place by the 5-​star reviews. Sashimi was tasty, but everything else pretty meh. Small portions, way overpriced, and the service was off. 1 Seaweed salad + 1 edemame + 4 pieces sashimi + 1 roll = £40

We came here on a Groupon for lunch as part of my boyfriend’s birthday surprise day, and I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised.
When I booked it, I didn’t realise you’d be getting a three course meal and that you could have steak instead of sushi if you wanted. Steak! On a Groupon! What?!
We arrived to a completely empty restaurant, save one other couple in a far corner, and were seated on a pretty large round table with a view of the street, the bar and two bowler hats either side of us. So far, so good.
The waiter came over within seconds and offered us chilled water in a fancy bottle, poured it for us and then left us with the menu and my God, what choice.
For starters, you could have miso soup and something else I couldn’t figure out, for second starter (Not really sure what this course was so for the purposes of this review, second starter will have to do… or maybe pre-​sides-​for-​mains?) there was a choice between a seaweed salad and tempura vegetables, and for the main course you could have steak (seriously!) or a choice of two or three different sushi platters.
We both went for the miso soup, then a vegetable tempura and seaweed salad and finally steak and the chef’s choice of sushi platter and it was alllll good.
Warning: When first trying the miso soup, blow on it. It is HOT. We both burned our tongues on it. Ouch. But the flavour was amazing, the tofu was lovely and soft and there were plenty of spring onions in it too. It was perhaps a bit filling for a starter, but as it’s essentially 95% liquid, I think we can let that go.
The seaweed salad was a mixture of cold seaweed and warm cucumber and was delicious. Definitely the perfect follow-​up to the hot miso. And the vegetable tempura came with five different kinds of veg and a beautiful salty dipping sauce so you definitely get variety. It can get a little messy though if you’re sharing. There’s no way you’re going to avoid dripping sauce across the table when working with chopsticks.
The main was lovely! The steak was perfectly cooked and came with a variety of mushrooms and the most beautiful peppercorn sauce. Delicciouussss. The sushi was a little dry though, and the rice was a bit too crumbly so it was difficult to eat. I’ve definitely had better elsewhere.
Once we’d got through the taster menu (and I say got through for a reason — there’s so much food you won’t want to eat anything else all day), we had a rest, some more water and then ordered an apple ice cream to share. As the waiter cleared up the mains, I looked at my boyfriend and laughingly said ‘Happy Birthday!‘
Next thing we knew, the waiter was making his way over with our apple ice cream, only it had a candle in it and a big sparkler! He sang happy birthday to my boyfriend and he got to blow out his ice cream. Considering I didn’t say anything in the notes and they’d gone to the effort based on my small comment only 5 minutes before, I’m thoroughly impressed with the service and it was such a nice thing for them to do!
All in all, Sushi Des Artistes was lovely. The food was good, the atmosphere was quiet but perfect for an intimate lunch, the décor gives it a quirky vibe I loved and the service was exceptional. If we’re ever in the area again, we’ll definitely be coming back!

We came here on a Groupon, which I don’t tend to do anymore because (ironically) I feel like sometimes restaurants treats you worse with vouchers, etc. I admit I was surprised a place like this offered Groupons but saw that it had a lot of good reviews so it was worth a shot.
We arrived and were greeted right away, our jackets taken and let to our table immediately (we surrendered our Groupon at the hostess table which I liked because then you don’t have to do the somewhat awkward motion of pulling out a piece of paper at the table). My one criticism is that as we were being led to our table a guy jumped out from behind the bar and asked if we didn’t want to have a cocktail before sitting down. It was odd because we were already being led to our table and it just felt out of place. We declined.
Once seated, we were promptly given the tasting menu as well as wine list. I ordered a glass of Rioja which was good and priced well (around £7.50 for a large glass). The décor is great, all blue, white, and red and with quirky features such as a bowler hat for lamp shades on the side tables. It’s tastefully done for the most part thought there are large flat screen tvs on the back walls which show a loop of images of beaches and exotic places and I don’t really think they’re necessary or all that nice.
The food arrived quickly, each course usually before we finished or right after we finished the last, which was nice.
The calamari we had for the first course was some of the best we’ve had — perfectly seasoned, crispy, light, and flavorful.
The second course I had the fried prawn which was good but not outstanding (and probably not a good choice after just having had something else fried) but the pork belly my partner ordered was outstanding! Melt in your mouth texture with excellent seasoning and flavor.
Then we had miso soup, which was filling and good.
Next came the sashimi which was very good — the cuts of fish were good sized (not skimpy and thin) and the flavor was excellent, clearly very fresh. The presentation was nice, as well, with the sashimi arranged around a martini glass and with excellent little dots of flavor such as black truffle (something I’ve never considered with sashimi!), chili, etc.
After that came the sushi which was a collection of rolls and nigiri. It was also great — flavorful, well presented, and very enjoyable.
Finally we had dessert which I didn’t have very high hopes for as a) I’m not a dessert person and b) Japanese restaurants don’t usually have desserts that interest me very much. The dessert was great though, a nice mix of rich cream, fresh fruit, and macaroons.
At one point we requested our Prosecco as I think they usually serve it with dessert and we wanted to toast with it earlier.
Service charge was on the price of the voucher (not the original price) and was 12.5% which we were happy with as the service was very good. Food was served quickly, waiters were very attentive, and everything was cleared away swiftly.
All in all I highly recommend this restaurant although I would say go with the Groupon as it seems like most people there do. The tasting menu is excellent and well worth it. We left feeling very satisfied and happy.

We had fabulous time. The food and the service were top notch. Definitely a place to come back to.

That is some seriously good sushi.
Our group of three went for Omakase — 8 course dinner each. So, just to make it clear, it wasn’t identical 8 dishes, but rather we had 24 different ones — which was super great! Chef has selected them himself, but see below for some of my recommendations.
My favourites were: fois gras roll, wagyu beef sashimi with truffles and macaroons. I would say that drinks here are on a more expensive side which is a bit of a downside. They did however made a very soft Manhattan with egg whites — totally eliminated the punch in the end but got us just as tipsy.
I would say — stay away from edamame beans, they are just edamame beans, it’s not going to be something exotic, and miso soup — again it’s just a miso soup, they don’t do anything extraordinary with it here.
Service was nice and attentive, but it was Tuesday evening with only handful of people around, so we got extremely good service, not sure how it is on busy nights. I would totally recommend going here on a non-​busy day — enjoy the relaxing atmosphere!
Also, a tip — use their 25% food off offer on some weekdays — would totally save you some money to pay for your drinks!
The atmosphere is subtle and a little bit posh (just to make you feel that bit special) with black & red interior and understated lighting all around.

Sushi des Artistes is a Japanese restaurant (creatively mixing with different cuisines, specialy French) with French styling and décor, British retro pop on the piano and — most importantly — heavenly food. Sushi des Artistes originated in Marbella, Spain and has been open for six years before the opening of this second location in Chelsea, London.
There are also a range of vegetarian items on the menu (a lot less than some restaurants I’ve been to) but at this price point I don’t think I (nor my bank account balance) will be wishing for any more options to try.
Soups and salads are priced between 5.80 to 22.50; meat and fish dishes from 7.50 to 29.50; sashimi (a la carte and combinations) from 9.80 to 56.50; sushi (1 piece nigiri — a la carte) from 2.90 to 9.80; sushi rolls (4 pieces) from 8.80 to 12.50; maki (6 pieces) from 5.50 to 8.50. Noodles and rice (10.50 to 29.50) and meat and fish mains (14.50 to 43.50) are also available.
For the money-​is-​no-​object sort of folk, they offer chef selection nigiri sushi combinations, ranging in price from 24.50 (foie gras) to 16 item assortment for 60.00 as well as a chef’s choice multi-​course menu for 85.00 — 105.00 p.p.
