Studio 52 London

All I can say is WOW!
I bought voucher for a makeover at Studio 52 from the Ideal Home Show — a very good sales person persuaded me. I booked for me and my sister for a girly day out in town but after my sister decided she couldn’t go at the last minute I had to go on my own and was honestly not looking forward to it. From the moment I got there though to the moment I left, I was looked after by an amazing team of people. The hair and makeup girls were incredible, so friendly and brilliant at what they do. The lady who took my pictures was so patient with me and genuinely lovely. The end result blew me way and I only wish I could have bought more pictures (they’re not cheap but you can see why). Thanks to everyone there — I’ll be back with my sister!

I just had a phone call from my very upset girlfriend who just spent the morning there with her friend. They both spent a lot of time preparing outfits to take and were excited about the shoot. Only afterwards, they experienced the same thing, they wanted 70 photos but were quoted GBP 70.00 per photo.
Come on guys ??? If you invite women in to your studio for a special day in their lives, don’t ruin it for them at the end. Sure a professional ‘high-​end’ model maybe able to afford these rates but not woman of average level of affluence.
Everything about the studio and service sound great, it’s just a shame that some reasonable negotiation can’t be made to end the experience on a high.

I am amending my rating of Studio 52 (see below the dotted line), as after I wrote this I was contacted by Studio 52 who looked into the issues that I had, apologised and resolved these.
I am impressed at how throughly they followed up, how efficient they were in this process and how concerned they were that there was an issue. This goes to show how important they value their customers and business.
Really my main issue with them was always the ineffective communication as i enjoyed the day, as this made me feel just like a number. However after being recontacted by them and them being so approachable (allowing me to give honest feedback regarding their business) and their friendliness, my opinion has improved.
Keep up the good work guys, being genuinely interested in your customers is really important to us!

Really not sure about this place!
I got a Groupon voucher (a friend and I went for a 50’s make-​over and shoot), so I could try them out to see if they were suitable to do some promo pictures for me.
The first issue we hit, was that although it mentioned a £50 deposit on the deal, they tried to charge us a £100 deposit for the weekend.
We were also promised a ‘make-​up goodie bag’ which never appeared.
We did however have a fantastic day everyone was very professional, we loved our manicures, make-​up and hair styling (although it wasn’t really 50’s more a modern understanding of this era).
The shoot also went well, we posed in a number of outfit, in a number of lovely sets and the photo’s were great
However when it came to the end we felt very pressured by the woman showing us the pictures to buy them, and the prices were just outrageous £70 per additional picture (we had 1 included in the deal). You get the copyright to any image you purchase but really! £70 is a lot of money for an image on a disk or an A4 print you can get just as good quality images for cheaper elsewhere!
I was really happy with the day, and wanted to support the business, but the sales pitch we were given was really just a let down and soured the experience.
I also contacted them afterwards to tell them we had forgotten our goodie bags and also to discuss another shoot and I heard nothing from them! I assume that because we didn’t buy that many images (although between us we did buy three as we liked them), they just aren’t interested!
