This place is awesome for antiques! There’s just so. much. stuff. Cyoberdog is also worth checking out, for no other reason than sheer novelty if you’re not much for the rave seen. And really, are you going to be the one to walk away from giant robots? Of course not. A really cool place to explore. Given more time, I’d definitely go back and just spend hours going though old records, clothes and books.

Really like Stables Market. Not much thats for sale appeals to me, but I love the atmosphere. There are plenty of food outlets which are not too expensive. A statue of Amy Winehouse was recently installed. I’m not sure that I could cope witth visiting at the weekend though.

To finish off a fmaily birthday weekend in a somewhat relaxed and casual style, I decided to show my northern middle class family the sights, sounds and smells(!) of Camden. We arrived on a typical Camden Sunday morning, where PEOPLEWEREEVERYWHERE. I often think it would resemble an anthill if you could get an aerial view. We wandered through the immensely cool streets on a surprisingly warm day and I decided to show them Camden lock and onwards to the incredibly more impressive Stables market. I suppose the markets here in this part of Camden do tend to run into one another, but the combination of Camden Lock/Stables/any other market is just incredible. So many nooks and crannies to explore, I found stalls I had never even seen before and I used to live here for a year! My family were amazed, not just at the number but variety of stalls, the cool & quirky bits of artwork and architecture that casually adorn this place to add all of that character — obviously talking about the metal horses found around the place, but even the Oriental style pagodas that you can sit under where food stalls are. All of these little touches make this place the MOST incredible atmosphere. Especially packed on a Sunday. A hot Sunday — yes we can have hot weather!

Unbedingt ansehen!
