History
Established in 1726.
St Martin-in-the-Fields is a landmark destination in the heart of London. It is a hospitable, vibrant and forward thinking community with worship at its heart, an internationally acclaimed music venue, and home of two outstanding cafés. Located on the northeast corner of Trafalgar Square, St Martin-in-the-Fields is steeped in beautiful Georgian architecture which has been imitated across the world.
St Martin’s is the third church on this site and was designed by James Gibbs and completed in 1726. In 2007 a major renovation of the crypt spaces took place, opening up these spaces for new chapel, a community centre, a state of the art rehearsal space and several exquisite function rooms.
