St Christopher’s Inn Greenwich

The sports bar downstairs is a part of this hostel situated literally next to the Greenwich Station.
It has a calm atmosphere between the big matches. I visited it for a quick lunch grub. The food arrived fairly quickly and you order it at the bar as usual.
I went for a Californian Wrap that came grilled with tasty grilled chicken inside, molten cheese and vegetables. Pretty impressive taste given quite unassuming presentation. I was expecting yet another heated up ready made food but oh yeah I was in for a surprise.
Overall, pretty decent place. I suspect it gets much busier during Premiership matches. Mind you, big flat TVs at each corner so each table gets a decent view!

St Christopher’s Inn at Greenwich was a last minute accommodation in London since our previous hostel has failed. Well, this hostel has a very good value for the money, staff is very friendly and can help you anytime you need (trust me, we arrived at 2 a.m., frozen and sleepy and even though the reception should be opened till midnight, girl waited for us and gave us room keys and every information needed). If you are travelling low-​cost, you are happy for just a bed and a toilet, so this could be a good choice for you.
However, if you are travelling during winter, I don’t recommend this hostel. Windows in our room couldn’t be closed tight and even though we asked for a repair or help, someone went to our room and in few seconds just walked away without any word. Last night we found out there is a heating, but just next to one bed, so that one person could be okay, but other seven couldn’t.
Below the bunk bed there are two iron boxes, where you can put your small luggage but only if you have a lock. We also found out that there is a chillin’ room, but just few chairs, one sofa, TV and a microwave. Regarding bathrooms — don’t forget to take some shoes for the shower. Bathrooms and showers weren’t as clean as they could be.
Last pro was the bar on the ground floor, where you can have some discount as a guest. However, the buffet breakfast was included and on the next block there is a grocery store where you can buy some food and is opened until midnight.
Transport connection to the centre: just next to the hostel there is a train station Greenwich, so it takes about 15 minutes to get to the London Bridge Station.

We got here after about 12 hrs of travel and just wanted to rest our heads. The receptionist/​bartender told us (two females) that we weren’t in the same room which we had requested. After a minute of «what compensation can we get for this inconvenience?» And the manager, Kelsey, delightfully gave us an apology and 3 free meal cards.
When we went Into our rooms my friend found she was the ONLY female in the room of 6. Not okay. We went down to move her and the manager did his best to put her in a place she could feel comfortable since we weren’t together. Not as pleasant as we wanted but he worked really hard to make us happy. After we settled In we went down to the bar and Kelsey bought us two beers as he could see how exhausted from our experiences we were. Really nice guy. Next we had a younger worker come over and bring us a full pizza on the house.
I won’t go into every other detail but the people here are genuine, friendly, considerate and every other positive word you can think of to describe a human being.
The facility they work In however needs a make over.
I hope management sees this review…
–They need to make female and male only dorms for cheaper. I think it’s a LOT more common than they have available.
–The communal bathrooms need to match the ones downstairs– nice, dark wood, with modern appliances. –Upstairs bathrooms are split up weird and moldy. The showers only stay on for 30 seconds at a time and I have not seen it cleaned in a week.
–Bedding needs to be burned and all new bedding should be bought
–«Chill out» room needs to be COMPLETELY overhauled and redone. And maybe a little more attention paid to its upkeep.
Would I stay here again? No. But I would go to eat the food and hang out with the staff most definitely.

Okay, let’s be honest. It’s a hostel, and a very Afordable one at that. I had an amazing time here, and we got the entire bar to remove their bed sheets and turn downstairs into a toga party. It was hilarious and fun.

Two words: Never. Again.

The only good thing was that the bed was comfortable & there was a grocery store on the next block that stayed open until midnight.
Other than that, it was loud & dirty. The showers were moldy, the bathrooms were not maintained, the hot water comes & goes, and it is extremely loud.
I do not recommend staying here. Pay more money and stay closer into the city.

AWESOME HOSTEL!
It was the first time my friend and I had ever stayed in a hostel and it was a great experience! While it was bit difficult to get to, it was such a great place to be, even for the short amount of time that we were there.
We were first greeted by a girl from Australia, there on a work visa, who checked us in and helped us figure out our plans into London. We were in a room with four other girls had our own beds with a personal storage box under the bottom bunk bed (be sure to bring a lock to keep your stuff save!) There was a shared bathroom with showers, however I did not shower there. The rooms were above the rest of the building which was a bar at night, which you had free access to, plus cheap drinks!
In addition, you got free «continental» style breakfast in the morning-​which while traveling on a budge it AWESOME! The place is also right next to a train (tube) station so traveling is incredibly easy-​just be sure to check on construction so that you don’t get stuck in London at night having to pay a buttload for a cab ride back like my friend and I did. :D
Overall, great experience and they have St. Christopher’s all over so I’d recomment them to anyone traveling!
