I was really appalled by the service I received when ordering skis online — they basically messed up my holidays and then refused to apologise for misrepresenting their deliveries schedule. Communication was poor, I had to call them several times to check on the status of my order, and then the refund; they delivered the skis late even though I told them several times there was no point as I was already abroad, and only when I checked on the refund did I realised that the skis had been sitting at the office gathering dust. They seem to lose emails, they would tell me to call back and then office would be closed early.
Completely irresponsible, not the way to run a national business.

While Snow + Rock may not have the best prices, they do have superior service. I got my Osprey backpack here online, and even though there was some mixup with the expected model, they completely owned up to it (basically they posted a picture of the new model on sale when they really were selling the old model — when I took it in to complain that they tricked me they gave me the new model for the sale price).
For that reason I always stop by here to see what they have. Plus they have the biggest line of Osprey products in town (which are the most comfortable backpacks you can get IMHO).
For newbies they will help you pick out a backpack and teach you what to look for, how to test it, etc etc.
And they have pretty good sales.

This place is awesome, even if it the clothes inside sucked you’re instantly attracted by the GENIUS logo (see pictures) and you’re bound to buy some strore brand just to be able to wear such genius. Almost getting hit by a car when crossing the road to get a clear picture of the front of the store, I feel this place will always have a special place in my heart.
As if to mirror the hardship I underwent to get this picture, the shop itself provides hardhitting ski gear at wallet hitting prices. Expect to pay £40 for a beanie/​wooley hat. Interesting! The staff were very kind and asked me what I was interested in buying to which I replied that I was looking for something hot for my girlfriend. He laughed and directed me to some Russian style furry hats that my girlfriend duly modelled for me. Treasured moments. The staff were obviously very down to earth and friendly, and their shop is probably one of the best ones for it’s field so don’t think to go anywhere else! Unless to another branch.
