The lobster roll is tasty and the sweet potato fries were fried to perfection! I do find the amount of lobster to the bread is a little bit uneven compared to Slapfish(for you Californiansssss) back home. The classic lobster roll is 12£ and sweet potato fries is 3£. I wanted to get their lobster chowder but it was priced at 5£ and I didn’t want to spend 17£ on one meal, so I opted out on that :(

Great ambiance and even better lobster rolls! Used to stop in here all the time, can’t wait to go back! If I remember the name correctly, the California roll was a favorite

Bit dissapointed because of staff. I felt he(staff) is racism… There was no one in the queue and seems never busy but he asked me to bring my foods and brought foods for others even it became bit busy. I saw bringing foods on four tables. And he spoke like talking with child to me so I thought it was the way his talking but he spoke fluently like other british to others. I even didn’t stammer!

Quick stop for lunch, pleasantly surprised. We had the lobster chowder and brioche. Cute décor, good food, good value for money. Easy.

I went here for lunch after I ate at Burgers & Lobsters the day before. I wanted a lobster roll this time for half the price and burgers and lobsters charges 20GBP for a roll w fries or lobster w fries from what I remember. This place gives you a good amount of meat in a lobster roll for only 10gbp, I also got the lobster chowder on the side 5gbp. You can never have enough lobster right? They had about 4 different kinds of rolls but I went with the classic as I really wanted to see how the classic tasted to judge the roll and it was spot on. Lobster chowder was really good as well but towards the end of the meal I started getting bloated probably due to all the sodium but nothing a couple cups of water won’t cure. Overall 5 Stars!

Good place for lobster to take away. They do lobster rolls but if you’re on a budget try the lobster chowder. I was a bit afraid the portion wasn’t going to be enough but it’s actually quite filling. And tasty! Soup is £5 and a roll £10. Some seats and tables inside.

I’ve eaten many a lobster roll in my day, but I find the price tag at Burger & Lobster to be completely outrageous. So when I learned that the owners of B&L had opened a more casual(and cheaper!) Soho joint, I was sold. We tried The Classic(original Burger & Lobster recipe) and the cashier sold us on the ‘award-winning’ Seven Samurai(Japanese Mayo, White Cabbage, Cucumber, Pickled Ginger, Spring Onions, Togarashi Spice). Both were amazing in their own right — creamy lobster, crisp buttery roll, and perfect toppings(on the Samurai. The Classic is perfect in its simplicity). At £10 a pop, these lobsta rolls can’t be beat.

Perfectly toasted, hot, buttery buns with refreshingly simple and delicate lobster, scallion bits, and mayo. No queue. 10 pounds. My last dinner in London was a success that left me wanting to come back. The atmosphere was very chill and cozy amid of crazy Chinatown(? close to Chinatown?). Free wifi. Friendly service. What more can you ask for on your last night in the UK while on a budget? I would definitely come back had I been a local.

It’s a good Lobster roll. But with something so simple you can only compare it to one that is a mainstay of the London scene, burger and Lobster. Granted Smack is much cheaper but the quality overall is better at B&L. Certainly you get less lobster here. Expected maybe for the price but I want my roll jam packed please! It’s a nice place this with a nice décor but I think I’d favour other places for my Lobster fix.

It’s a cheap lobster roll. It’s tasty but not very filling, but it’s definitely worth a visit if you’ve never had a lobster roll in your life. It’s not particularly memorable, unfortunately, but you’ll like it when you eat it. Still prefer my lobster as an actual shellfish and not all rolled up!

Die California Roll ist mein Favorit. Es ist genug Lobster im Sandwich und das Brot ist einfach himmlisch.

My buddy and I spotted lobster roll’s neon sign and decided to stop by for a quick bite. Got tired of fish and chips and other lame street food, we thought having a lobster sandwich would spice up our appetite a bit. Unlike the lobster burger chain, there was no queue. We ordered a classic and a California, there’s a lot of lobster meat in it! The sandwich is fresh and perfectly toasted. We also tried the lobster chowder but it was okay, 5 pounds is a bit too much for a small cup of soup. Ended up spending 30 for everything including drinks, but overall the experience was great.

The food is always fresh. Tons of lobster in their cous cous, the Mexican roll was spicy and fresh but the chowder is by far the star of the day. It’s like heaven in a paper cup! Better than the chowder from Boston too. Only downside is that there too few outlets! Here’s hoping they open an outlet in Midlands.

With the increasing influence of the Occupy movement, is lobster a symbol of bourgeois decadence and over consumption? The guys who started Burger & Lobster are trying to prove that lobster can be accessible to everyone — £20 for a whole lobster, anyone? Smack Lobster is the little brother of B&L. Offering 5 lobster rolls, lobster chowder and lobster salad, all for £10 or under, this is the place to get your lobster fix if funds are low. I tried the classic and it was delicious. A pocket of crispy bread, generous chunks of lobster in a classic mayo I’ll be back to try the other varieties

So much lobster!!! Oh my! Yes at £10 pounds it’s pricey for a salad, but damnnnnn that lobster! For £10 you can have the lobster roll, with a few different options for toppings or you can go for the salad with avocado! Obvs for me when avocado is involved, I’m all over the salad! The salad was delicious, super healthy with a really nice dressing. Can’t recommend this place enough.

10 pound lobster roll. Served on warm buttery toast and with several different dressing options. California, BLLT, Mexican … Everyone will find some concoction of a lobster roll to fancy their taste buds. I ordered the original, my dude ordered the BLLT. I returned to the register to try one their«ice creams». There were two options with alcohol inside and one non-alcoholic(strawberry and mint). The strawberry and mint one was delightful, once I could actually eat it. Basically it was one large ice cube in proper packaging to eat out of it. It was a British made product which made me happy. I’ve tried the lobster roll at Burger and Lobster; I would prefer this place over the chain. Much cheaper and just as good of a product!

I’ve never had lobster in my life, let alone a lobster roll! This place is really small but it has a nice cosy atmosphere. The lobster roll was a little too salty for me. I didn’t think lobster was meant to be salty. Maybe it was the Mayo that it was mixed in. I got the classic. It was very filling, but I think I’ll go for one of the other rolls next time.

This might be one of the best deals in the city. Lobster roll for £10, you say? Tell me more. Ok, I shall. Smack Lobster is a deli on Dean Street. You come in and order from the counter. You get your food. You eat your food. Although your food is a lobster roll or lobster salad and it only costs you ten pounds, which is unheard of in this city. This is the little sister of Duck and Waffle so you know the food will be quality. There are lots of variations of lobster. My only issue is that sometimes, not always, but sometimes, they do skimp on the amount of lobster you get and it can feel a little sad in the roll. But othertimes, so much lobster! Yes! I will be back for my lobster. Mmm.

Fresh and delicious! My family and I ordered the California, Classic, B.L.L.T and Seven Samurai lobster rolls.(I personally recommend the Seven Samurai) The lobster chowder perfectly complemented the rolls, so definitely order a cup! I would’ve given this place 5 stars BUT they didn’t have the parm courgette fries due to not having a deep fryer =\

10 pounds lobster roll! YUM. So worth it. I had no queues, and there was some shared seating to the corner as well as some counters to enjoy your food. The menu is pretty simple — lobster roll or lobster on salad. There’s lots of bottled drink choices. Your food arrives quickly, you devour it quickly(it’s so good), and you leave much happier than when you came in. Great value — yummy lobster!

While I am no lobster roll expert, I thoroughly enjoyed this place. After passing the infamous Burger and Lobster, which had a queue going all the way up the road, I happily chose to try Smack instead. At half the price(10£ instead of 20£) and with no queue, I was impressed with the classic lobster roll I ordered. The roll itself was soft, buttery, and toasted to perfection. They were also pretty generous with the amount of lobster they gave me, which was so delicious! The restaurant is small, but nicely decorated with minimal seating and large windows overlooking dean street. Their staff were friendly and very quick. You can choose a selection of variations on their lobster rolls to eat in or take away. If you get take away, I recommend walking over to St. James park for a picnic!

Not a big fan of lobsters but since my friend only eats seafood thought maybe this would be a nice stop for a quick bite. would def come back again for a quick snack, it was pretty light on the tummy that i had it as a second lunch meal. I loved that the place wasn’t so fishy and didn’t have a fishy smell for a lobster shack and i fell in love with the beautiful seating area, pretty tiny but pretty for the eye

Its always nice when my obsession also becomes London’s! Lobster, here there and everywhere! Since Burger & Lobster the new thing is to open up more places that do lobster. Im on a mission to try them all! Hard mission i know but i am dedicated like that. Smack is literally on the same road as Burger & Lobster in Soho, but more than a restaurant its a snack place or take away. Basic — several time of lobster rolls & lobster salads. We tried to classic lobster roll — delicious. Whats there not to like — warm buttery brioche, cold lobster. Its amazing! But does not compare to Burger & Lobster… But for half the price(£10) ill definitly pop by whenever i have a lobster craving but dont have the time fo B&L, lets hope that doesnt happen too often!

Never had lobster before, the rolls were small and pricey but nice to try. Felt the lobster lost some flavour in amongst the sauces and bread. The Japanese salad was not good, it was bland and the rice wasn’t sticky. Average. Definitely not awful or even bad, but I wouldn’t try this again. The toasted brioche bread was lovely and I was full even after just one small roll because they were stuffed deeply with yummy filling but I didn’t particularly like lobster and wouldn’t pay £10 for a roll again. I’d rather have a hot dog.

Since I’m just visiting the area, I don’t know how long this had been here but it’s new enough to be new to me. Smack is just a small place, with just a but of space to sit in, but a lot of their aim is clearly takeaway. What do they have? Lobster rolls and lobster salad. They have a few varieties of both the salad and sandwich and I decided to start with the Classic lobster tool as well as a very nice bottle of cloudy lemonade. The sandwich arrived quickly. The roll was warm, perfectly buttery, and a bit toasted. The lobster was chilled, with a good amount of sauce drizzle and nice large pieces. I’ll admit those from New England in the States would be underwhelmed but I was impressed. At £10 for the sandwich it wasn’t the cheapest option I had, but lobster is always on the spendy side. It’s a nice little indulgence though and feels like a good treat lunch while in Soho or a good snack on a night out.
