Sixt Rent A Car Battersea

I am totally disgruntled by the lack of service, rudeness, total inflexibility, ridicule & humiliation I suffered when I arrived to collect a van at Sixt Battersea branch. I apparently errored by entering a debit card on a prepay option, OK I accept my error, should I have to pay a penalty for such an error? cause I did. I had to accept cancellation of my booking without an immediate refund or transfer of payment & rebook the whole transaction with an additional charge of £25 or fore go the hire of the vehicle, which I required to fulfil my commitment to my customers, I should point out that I own a removal company & due to a breakdown it was necessary for us to hire a van to cover our workload as all our other vehicles were committed to work. So I had no choice but to proceed as there was no time left for me to arrange hire with an alternative company. The young lady who was dealing with me was in fact very polite though a little matter of fact & repetitive about the fact that it was my mistake, I have no real issue with MS? as it soon became evident where she was taking her service lead from: a MR Jobs worth this gentleman took it upon himself to interject in the conversation I was having with Ms? & either wittingly or otherwise he left me feeling exactly how I stated at the beginning of this message, he started out by reiterating that it was my MISTAKE. I must point out that HE WAS INFACT SERVING ANOTHER CUSTOMER AT THIS TIME, but continued by removing his wallet from his pocket & throwing it in the waste bin behind the desk & to finish off his analogy he stated that before throwing away his money he should read what he is committing to & that it was nothing to do with him or Ms Ly if I didn’t read what was in front of me, well thanks for that cause now on top of the fact that I have made an error & been penalised by having to rebook at a higher charge & wait for a refund on my original booking now I am subjected to a patronising display in front of other customers who by the way had made the same error I had by using a debit card to make a prepay booking, so it’s not such an uncommon occurrence, well at least I am in good company despite being treated as a complete idiot by SIXT’s representative, I tried to establish some sense of credibility that I was not a complete moron incapable of reading & heard myself justifying my actions through a series of mitigating circumstances that were relevant to this situation such as the fact that despite paying with the wrong method I had paid & the monies had been taken from the wrong card & a receipt had been issued, but despite my protestations to the contrary MR Jobs worth continued with his stance telling me «if you don’t like it you always have the choice not to use SIXT now or in the future» well on that note I will agree I have used your company on this occasion so as not to inconvenience my customer or to damage my companies reputation but in terms of future transactions I will look elsewhere to meet my personal & business hire requirements, I do not anticipate any positive outcome to complaint message probably a standard letter in reply without any direct comment relating to anything stated in the message or any influence on the future service offered to customers at SIXT Battersea branch. I will follow up my complaint with reviews on various business listings reiterating my experience & also discuss these events with friends & relatives not for the sake of it or to be difficult but purely to prevent others encountering the same experience I endured at SIXT Battersea branch. Sixt customer service have since been in touch & were extremely proactive in trying to reach an amicable resolve, I am glad to say I am now happy with the final outcome & I will give them a chance to redeem themselves further in the future.

The Caddy Maxi I hired broke down twice. Once in London and then terminally just outside of Nottingham. The RAC were called out on both occasions. When it became apparent that it could not be repaired on the roadside I was advised by Sixt Battersea that the RAC would provide a replacement vehicle. However it then became apparent that the RAC would only provide a standard size car for one day. In most cases this is not going to be any use to someone who’s hired a van and is in the middle of an international journey. In my case I was transporting an engine to southern Ireland and needed to make a ferry connection very early the next morning. So clearly there is a significant gap in Sixt’s contingency plans.
However I must say that the service I received from the staff at the Battersea office was superb. It was obvious that every effort was being made by the gentleman I was dealing with to come up with a workaround. In the end someone arrived in Nottingham with a replacement van late that night and he were able to continue the next morning and get a later ferry. So while the Sixt’s corporate policies may have let it down it’s staff could not be faulted. For that reason I would have no qualms about using the Battersea branch again. A company is only as good as it’s people and when things go wrong, that’s when you see who the committed staff are.

Yet again Sixt went over and above what I thought they would do in refunding a strange payment on my card — giving me a £10 credit! I also had a great experience a while ago where I arrived 2 mins after the depo shut in Battersea, and they re-​opened just to let me park the car to save a trip to either Heathrow or another nights charge…

The prices were very competitive, with no hidden charges and upon arrival at the rental location, the staff were friendly and helpful. The office presentation was also a step above the rest, not your usual run-​down portacabin with flickering fluroscent lights, but a professional looking environment that is clean and tidy, mirroring the quality of the fleet Sixt use. I use Sixt when I travel on Int’l business, the cars are well maintained and of good quality. I highly recommend Sixt to anyone who needs to rent a car or van — you will be impressed by their offering and have set a benchmark for others to aspire to.

website to reserve the car with no obligation for the booking which is great. When it came to pick up the car all the staff were friendly and helpful not just scripted robots — it was a breeze to pay for (in my case with a debit card) and collect the car, and what a nice car it was for the money.
I can highly recommend their Golf range of cars as they are all 2.0 TDi GT variety, plenty nippy for around town and fully kitted out with cruise control for the motorway. Believe me I’ve hired a car every weekend for the last 8 weeks and these guys are by far the best hire company.
