I discovered Shanghai Tang a few years ago on a trip to China and fell in love. Its a classic cool sporty brand, kinda Ralph Lauren like, but with its own interpretation of sporty style fused with a traditional chinese style. So the polos, with their Mandarin collars, are totally unique. The brand is understated enough to be worn iin a wide variety of venues and situations. its versatility, for me at least, can range from casual business meetings to sunday night loft parties or just a leisurely afternoon at some pavement café south of NYC’s 14th street. The casual lin eis comfortable enough to be worn to the gym and even on an overnight flight. Luckily, its also undiscovered enough in my circle that i am able to stand apart from my high fashion minded friends who prefer the tried traditional brands(Burberry, D&G, LV) I love Shanghai Tang. But if you live in NYC, I much prefer you to stick with Polo or Lacoste or whatever so i may continue to be totally unique in this fashion find, — Arik Katzenberg

Shanghai Tang is a luxury Chinese brand, which first opened in Hong Kong and now they have boutiques such places as Shanghai, New York, Paris and Singapore. It is a beautiful shop, and whether you are willing or not to spend money on their pricey goods, it is definitely worth a visit. The shop sells a range of clothing for men, women, and children, as well as accessories and furnishings. The silky fabrics used for the products are bright and alluring and the shop is almost like a little museum of its own. My favourite part about visiting this shop is that the air is perfumed with the lovely aroma of their room scent ginger flower spray(which you can actually buy in a little bottle and take home for yourself).
