Beautiful, meaningful and inspiring jewellery. Satya means truth in Sanskrit, and it is the guiding force behind all we do. We make jewellery of all truths and donate to children’s charities throughout the world.

History

Established in 2002.

After 30 days of intensive yoga training in the Bahamas, Satya was given her spiritual name, Satya. She was unsure of the word’s meaning, but soon learned that it was «truth.» That evening, she had the dream to start making jewellery of all truths and donate to children throughout the world. She immediately called Beth, her best friend, to share her idea for starting a business. Beth had recently come back from a sabbatical in Thailand, and fell instantly in love with the idea.

I discovered this place on the Yoga Show last Autumn and since then it has become the only place where I buy my jewelry.
It is an American brand and this store is their only outlet in the UK. It has 5 other stores in New York.
Let’s start by saying that I’m not into jewelry in general, but what is sold in this store is very different. Blending spiritual symbols, healing gemstones and sacred meanings, their pieces are beautiful and delicate, with subtle colours.
They organise events where you can get some pieces with a 30% off discount. If you sign up to their newsletters, then you will find out when these happen. And trust me, with their prices you will need this discount ;)
The shop is always empty, and you feel kind of observed when you go in. It is quite uncomfortable. So I prefer to look at their pieces more online, although I really need to see them live to fully appreciate them.
One thing I truly truly dislike is the fact that they don’t offer refunds on their purchases, only exchange or store credit.
I have it as a principle not to buy in shops with this policy. On this occassion, I don’t know of any other place that sells something similar, so it makes it very difficult for me to stand by my principles ;)
Exactly for this reason I never buy presents from this place, as the people that would be receiving these presents wouldn’t be able to get a refund and get something else in another place. So this definitely stops me from spreading the Satya love.
