Samba Swirl

Honest — I would give SAMBA SWIRL 5 stars because it is the best frozen yogurt I’ve ever tasted in my life. I usually dislike frozen yogurt — if I’m gonna have a treat I’ll have ice cream. But I genuinely CRAVE samba swirl. My sister and I keep track on Twitter for the flavours of the day at Chiswick. If it’s Peanut Butter or even better, Dulche de Leche, all plans will be canceled and SAMBA SWIRL here we come!
The only problem is that the staff seems to change a lot and don’t really know how to operate when ordering other things. We had two bad experiences ordering something that wasn’t the self serve froyo. I ordered a banana Acai bowl before and the literally tried to blend ice with banana and it came out this crunchy ice, semi banana pure thing. Thankfully we got a refund but I feel the staff training needs some work… But other than that… Gorgeous Froyo — ¹⁰⁄₁₀!

So, I’ve been following Samba Swirl on Twitter (as they tweet their flavors for the day) and yesterday I found out (via Twitter) that they have a club card where you get a stamp with your purchase and once your card is full, you get something like £3.50 off your next purchase. I don’t know all the details because NO ONE has ever offered me one even though I have made half-​a-​dozen purchases at Samba Swirl to date. This annoys me slightly but it doesn’t matter because the yogurt is delicious.

i’m finding that food trends filter over from the USA though it does take a few years. So, with a bit of patience on my part, the things that I miss from my American trips do eventually become available over here
Maybe, I won’t need to go on holiday any more… Hehe. To my American Unilocal friends who I’ve had the privilege to share time with on my US trips, of course I’m joking! I’d come and see you guys even if there was no food to attract me
However, I’ve enjoyed my favourite things like froyo crossing the pond and I’m so happy to see that self serve is coming to the fore. I’m all about the toppings with my froyo and I don’t want to be limited to ²⁄₃ toppings, hence my preference for self serve
I had heard of Samba Swirl but I’ve never been to one of the neighbourhoods where their stores are located. However, with perfect timing, in lovely mild autumnal weather today, I visited friends in Chiswick and stumbled upon this branch located near Turnham Green station. They’re brave opening here, coming up against competition from amongst others Gelato Mio and Baskin & Robbins within a few hundred metres
They have 6 flavours available and they rotate weekly. The quality of the froyo is nice — creamy rather than icy with distinctive flavours. I packed out my tub with my favourite fruity toppings and a few crunchy choccy bits for texture.
Samba Swirl is one of the better froyo places in town and I hope that competition will continue to lift standards
I’m now waiting for shaved ice to cross the pond!

Moved into the neighbourhood 3mths ago and love this place. Great yog and toppings!

I am genuinely shocked to see Samba Swirl with such low ratings in Chiswick allow me to give me 10 cents and begin to give it a fairer score!
In a word this place is AWESOME! I’d only been to the central London frozen yoghurt shops like Snog in the past and was a big fan, so it’s about my dream scenario to get an even better place right here on our doorstep in Chissy.
You grab a pot and there are six flavours on a day which they change regularly, my favourite’s white chocolate macadamia whereas Rose loved the peanut butter and won’t stop going on about it :) Then you add whatever toppings you like and pay by weight.
I went a little overboard on my first visit and a full pot with toppings set me back £5.50 but it was SO much better than any other frozen yoghurt I’ve tried it was worth every penny. Next time I went and spent about half that and it was about right for me, so it’s actually great not having to spend a lot. The yoghurt’s creamy and so the staff there told me is almost fat free so goodness I’m struggling to find reasons not to visit at least twice a week now.
A must visit if you’re anywhere in or around Chiswick, I promise you’ll have never tried anything like it!

Did not enjoy the froyo itself (not much like froyo, more like watery ice cream), which was a shame as the service was good and the concept was explained well. A little puzzled why there are only giant cups available as it makes it way to easy to spend more than you wanted.

I like the idea of creating my own dessert, with toppings etc, however I like my frozen yoghurt to taste like yoghurt, which this doesn’t really. Also the range of flavours is confusing if I want chocolate or coffee I’ll get a gelato. Despite this the service was really good. Perhaps if they changed the yoghurt recipe and made the serving sizes different this could really work.
