Did this place move locations? I remember it being in another building in Exmouth market than what’s displayed on the map — either way, happy to know it’s still open. I was a somewhat frequent patron of Sade during my time in London, and repeat customer when I had layovers in Heathrow or was in town for family holidays. Sade is as good as it gets around London while keeping the cheque at the comfortable 30 quid price point — quick service, hearty portions and creative & delicious cocktails made this a favourite of mine since I lived right around the corner on Rosebery Ave. Get the mezze platter, it’s supposed to be a starter but it made me full before my main even came out… delicious sampling of Mediterranean cuisine!

Really disappointing place. For starters, it was difficult to book a table. It appeared that the person answering the phone didn’t have very good english, so after some pointless conversation where not much was understood I was passed over to somebody who managed to book us a table that sunday for 12.30pm. Upon arriving, it appears that the door was open, but nobody was around. After languishing for 5 minutes, somebody from the kitchen by chance happens to walk by and mention that the place doesn’t open till 1pm on a Sunday. I mention I was booked for that time, but whatever… Anyway, we come back at 1pm and are nicely greeted and seated this time. We get our wine and await our food. 10 – 15 minutes later the food arrives and whilst the chicken is a really good generous size, the vegetables are embarrassing in portion. It just screamed the cheapness of this place. Just have a look at my picture. I guarantee this is how it was served. Exactly 5 green beans, 1 tiny carrot shared between two people, 2 pieces of brocolli and a single small potato. We were here on an Amazon Local voucher(2x Sunday Roast and bottle of wine), but were still utterly ripped off. The dessert was okay, but we left hungry still. Honestly, I left wishing this place was shut down so they can’t treat anyone else like this. I mean what should I have expected going to a Mediterranean place for a sunday roast. I shall never speak of this place again. I will just let the pictures do the talking.

The 2-course Lunch menu is very good value. I went for Falfel for starters(nice flavour, but very dry) and then the chicken with rice off the set menu. The chicken was lovely — tender and juicy, with a nice flavour. Overall I felt that this is a pleasant place to have lunch — nothing particuarly special, but nicely cooked food at a reasonable price. Service was OK, not overly friendly or welcoming though. Service charge of 15% is added to the bill. During the week, Sade also sell street food outside the restaurant in Exmouth market(I haven’t bought any of this, but assume the food would be of similar quality).

Came here a few months back. Pretty good food, was impressed with the humous. Decent amount of vegetarian choice too and not too pricey. Win!

Had a lovely meal here with an old friend yesterday. Lots of choice, even for veggies too :) We had a mezze selection which was beautifully presented and then the stuffed artichoke. The stirfried vegetables in the mezze were the stand-out and the artichoke dish was lovely, if a touch too lemony. The free humous and refills on bread were a great touch. For dessert we had the organic apricots stuffed with nuts — so unusual but a lovely light touch to finish a healthy and flavourful meal. Would recommend…

I had warm baklava and ice cream, and I believe it was freshly made on premises. You have to ask for it this way as it’s possibly not on the menu. Mixed grill was excellent and I love my bread and the bread here was great, lovely warm and soft. Never have room for three courses and end up taking some of my main course home! It is a bit trot from a tube station, especially if you are new to the area, but it is worth it!

Lovely tasty simply delicious food, with a modern twist. My mixed meze plate had all the important things: tabouleh, hummus, stuffed vine leaves etc. That and a side salad, and I have a very healthy meal! My Taste card meant it was half price too! FTW!

All was fantastic with our meal until it came to the bill, when we pointed out that their sign saying 50% off drinks between 3 and 6. They said that this was a lunchtime offer(how does that work?), and that they had put the sign out after 6(er.how does that work?). So it’s interesting that we had more or less the same experience as the first reviewer. However, the food was plentiful and pretty tasty. I had mixed meze platter followed by moussaka on the 2 courses for £11(or so) dinner deal. For me, not honouring an advertised deal is shabby behaviour. Try La Porchetta or Santore instead — they are delish.

I think the review below is somewhat unfair. Yes, Sade has a lot of different menus, which could be confusing… but they do make clear what is available at lunchtime, both online and on their boards out in the market. Even so, I think the(higher) dinner prices are reasonable. The food here is very good — fresh and tasty. For lunch, it becomes a steal — the ‘healthy menu’ is enough to feed two and delicious. The homous is particularly nice homous, and the pprtions are good sizes. The staff are a bit no-nonsense, not hugely welcoming, but efficient and helpful when you ask. They dealt very well with a confusing taste card/lunch deal/10 people dining situation. Not a special cocasion restaurant, but a good choice for mezze or lunch amongst a street full of either expensive or not-that-great restaurants, in my opinion.
