Rumba

Came here on a Friday night. Wait was 30 min, cover was 5 quid.
Basically we paid to enter a large frat party where it was super sweaty/​sticky. The ground was literally slippery on the dancefloor… #bye. Bar wasn’t exactly cheap, and the bathrooms queues were ridiculously long. They might offer you a free shot so that you’re lured to pay the cover and enter Rumba, but even the free shot is only half the size of a regular shot. IMO, only redeeming quality is the hip-​hop music.
Tl;dr — There are so many cooler pubs and clubs to check out in London. Pass this one.

Went here while on vacation in London. Got free entry both times which was nice, however, the drinks were more expensive than most. Thank goodness I obly paid half price for my drink due to it being happy hour. If you’re gonna go, DEFINITELY go during happy hour.
There are two dance sections, one close to the bar, where there are also a few booths, but it’s a very tight area. The second area is more spacious, and the lighting was actually quite nice.
There’s nothing really bad about this club, but nothing good either. Just your average club in my opinion.

Meh, is definitely the best way to describe it. The «bouncers» kept harassing us because we didn’t check in denim jackets. It’s not a coat it’s a jacket for goodness sake. It was hella empty and there was this one girl who was on drugs who kept seizure dancing. I thought someone would get kicked in the neck but everyone survived. At least while I was there.

Came here for a night out a few weeks back. Pretty good place, cheap drinks, busy and awesome vibe. Only meant to stay for a couple but ended up staying til the lights went up!

We all had an amazing time.
Our ratings is definitely a 5 rating. From book the guest list, jumping the queue, and dancing all night long. Great night! And great staff, Thank you!!!

Everything about this place was epic. The tracks they played and the crowd. If you are ever celebrating a birthday or a party of some sort. Come here! Cheap and awesome. Thanks Rumba

I wanted to like Rumba a lot more. Yet, it falls short in many areas.
I booked a guest list for my birthday party. We had to be in before 11pm or pay 10 pounds. Beyond reasonable. We arrived at 10:30pm and not let in. After speaking to the bouncers (after the event staff person), we were finally let in without the cost of paying.
It’s sketchy. Down in a basement you go complete with tourists, bar crawls, etc. A friend of mine had her phone stolen during the evening. Bathrooms could use a good clean as well.

Went for a birthday party on a Friday and have to admit I did enjoy myself (don’t judge!), HIGHLY recommend you go for HAPPY HOUR as the drinks are seriously cheaper (and still kick back strong) than anywhere else.
Bar Staff: kind and attractive woman in corsets (because who doesn’t want good tips?) who know how to make a good drink.
Music: very fun, upbeat, pop, with a little mix of old school 80’s classic awesome.
Clientele: Like a true city there was a mixture of Gay, Straight, 20’s-40’s, business suits, and girls in short… things. Honestly I have no idea where a lot of these women bought clothes but I am sure in their eyes they were absolutely stunning. If only I were that brave.

What a friendly club! Booked a booth and got a massive free cocktail!!! The dance floor was packed all night, DJ was amazing!

Great night! Celebrated my birthday there and got a giant martini and a booth compltely free! Great atmosphere all night! Great cocktail aswell! Loved the ‘cheeky monkey’!

One of the worst nightclubs in the area! Unprofessional staff. Just want to warn you all that this nightclub is way under par! The music wasn’t that great either, trust me there are way better places to catch down Shaftsbury.

Le quartier peut paraitre attirant mais il est vraiment trop touristique pour une vie nocturne. Le club le fait comprendre avec une entrée avoisinant souvent les 15£. La musique est identique à ce que l’on peut trouver partout et écouter à la radio.
Les consommations sont par contre peu chère, mais loin d’être bonnes.
L’ambiance peut être sympa si l’on y va nombreux, mais sinon passez votre chemin.

Oh, Bar Rumba. You’ve taken my memories at least twice. It’s a good thing I still have the pictures.
Here’s some advice: Girls, 40 year old men are always on the prowl and they WILL grab at all of your bits. Guys, just don’t get drunk to the point where you’ll drink other people’s leftovers. It could get ugly.
With cheap admission and strong drinks, this place is good if you’re feeling reckless.

Living stateside, I’m use to security being watertight like a ducks butt.
But I had some words said to me by some female «bouncer.» Those changed when she heard my american accent.
I love when a party is packed, everyone is feeling the vibe. Jordan & the Movement Crew are doing something well.

When I was younger I would go to Bar Rumba religiously. Movement was one of my favourite drum and bass nights and I would go there to wiggle my bum every Wednesday. Now the place is a dungeon filled with elitist wankers. It is a basement club with two rooms. Imagine that those two rooms are overflowing with folks whose heads are so gigantic that while you’re grooving on the dance floor you have to avoid bumping skulls with the other club goers. I felt like I had a concussion when I left.
The security is ludicrously tight. There is this one troll woman who scouts out people to harass just because she can. One night she wouldn’t let my friend in for some silly reason and made her stand outside the club while all of her friends were having a good time inside. I think she did it because it made her feel powerful, like she was the most authoritative security guard personnel ever and she could rule the world if she wanted to. Ridiculous, this place has totally gone downhill.

Ooooh well done Bar Rumba. Happy hour here is pretty wonderful. I don’t know what we were drinking, but it was £15 for two pitchers of yummy cocktail. And we were quite merry afterwards.
The bar is great, dark and intimate, but a lot of fun as well. The music they have here is fantastic and it’s fun and friendly.
It’s not expensive, which for this part of town is a surprise. It’s well kitted out enough to charge a lot more, so it might be best to get down there before they realise this.

Central London club free fri/​sat/​sun day nights before 10pm for ladies £10 pounds there after and £10 pounds for guys. Not a bad size dance floor the music ranges from RnB, hip hop and mainstream RnB gets full but there’s still space to move around there are a good few seats but that shouldn’t matter because you shouldn’t be sitting down any way any how. Up on that dance floor is where you should be. There’s a DJ and sometimes if you’re persistent enough he’ll do requests esp. if it’s someone’s birthday drinks are quite expensive so come with a little something tucked away. Quite an early one as they close at 2pm Happy hour on Sundays.

I go here on Tuesday nights, where a company called Soulsa do a special Salsa night. You can find them on myspace for more information. I love salsa and if you do too, it’s a great place to find a good dance partner. However, here’s my warning, if you’re not single, be careful, some dancers get a little too close for comfort. You eventually work out who to stay away from after a couple of times. It’s a great night with a live salsa band.

Bar Rumba is a small underground club with a dance floor and good sized bar. Mostly hip hop/​commercial rap played, always packed out over the weekends with the cool crowd.
Drinks priced well for a west end club but the menu is not that diverse.
An all round good night out, friday’s being the better night to jam there.

Très sympa
On y trouve beaucoup de jeunes londoniens ainsi que pleins d’étrangers, très bon son et bondé de monde mais très bien pour faire la fête toute la nuit. Le pinte de bière est à 3 livres.

Schöner Kellerclub ohne affektiertes Klientel/​Personal. Gute Stimmung und der vielleicht letzte ernstzunehmnde dnb-​wochentermin immer Donnerstags, auch Roni Size war schon des öfteren da. Praktisch: Direkt nahe am Picadilly Circus, zwischenduch/​davor/​danach mal was zu Essen zu besorgen ist überhaupt kein Problem.

Al principio está muy bien, pero cuando llevas cuatro horas porque no te puedes ir, ya que has «pagao 2000 pelas», te aburres del mismo ritmo todo el rato. Eso sí, puedes ver mucha gente de la comunidad negra moviendo las caderas que «dejan de lao al más sentao».
